I didn't know Revell did one ? I think A Model did a family of them which got very good reviews but they were quite expensive for 1/144 (or I thought so anyway). Wonder if it's a rebox of one of those ?

i opened the box, the revell kit (from the 1980's) is the same mould as the Minicraft kit, i guess they must have sold the moulds to Minicraft.

That Revell-Minicraft 1/144 Lanc is from the original Crown moulds.

It's not too bad, but it's easily recognisable as the angle of the windscreen is way too much. It'd suit a Mach 2 fighter better than a WWII bomber.  ;D
Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage

Airfix 1/72 Lockheed Constellation Super-G
Academy 1/72 KC-97G refueling tanker with boom

Will test if the Rotodome from the 1/72 Heller Grumman E-2C Hawkeye fits on the upper fuselage of the KC-97G. If not a bomber/attack version could be built with the spare parts.

Thinking of a tanker version of the Connie or Super Star layout.

It/they are actually Heller kits but Airfix sold them when they were both part of the same firm. They did a standard Connie and a Super too, both BIG boxes of plastic and rather nice looking too, albeit a tad basic.

Got a 1:72 Trumpeter P-40B for only EUR 8,-. Might end up as an RAF aircraft - maybe one of the 46 Sq. machines as part of the Expeditionary Force in Norway in mid 1940... BoB tribute, perhaps?

There's a few problems with the kit, but changing the undercarriage legs to metal or brass should help. DJ Parkins do replacement resin  engines, although you may need to thin the props. Heller do an upgrade kit. The wingtip tanks are too small and the cockpit glazing is in the wrong place. You can't see the cockpit interior so this doesn't really matter. Use plenty of nose weight.

Right

I'm afraid that Airfix/Heller tie up is something my brain just won't recognise and I can never remember what was produced on the shared basis

And for my Bro :

HobbyBoss F4U-1 Corsair. Hey, he's stopping by tonite to trade beef jerky for a model, and he wanted a Corsair. This way is better than giving him my RoG one ! lol
