The Evil Kit-Finder General (aka Thorvic) was kind enough to send me a 1/72 Italeri T-45 Goshawk.

I've just been presented with a Revell 1:1200 scale Titanic as part of a birthday  present.  I can visualise a dazzle painted WW1 trooper, a depot ship in Scapa Flow or even a mid-1920's Armed Merchant Cruiser with a catapult on the stern and a couple  of CMBs on the lifeboat davits.  There may possibly be a back-story ready in time for the Civilianise/Militarise it GB,  but no model.

If anyone wishes to use  this concept  themselves, please accept it as a present from me!!!

More believable if it was a fourth Olympic class ship, ordered to replace Titanic.

Incidentally, the second White Star liner to be named Oceanic - for which the keel had been laid in Belfast in the early 30s and was their answer to the as then unfinished Cunard Queen Mary - was the fourth Olympic class ship, although largely modified externally.  There's built models elsewhere on t'nterweb.  Not as visually aesthetic as Olympic or Titanic though.

My fourth Olympic would have been named Oceanic and was to have been an aircraft carrier conversion towards the end of WW1.  I did plan on using a 700th Titanic for the hull and a Graf Zeppelin or similar carrier in 700th for the deck and a fair bit else.

Oh, kits.

Ebay - enough Airfix Dalek spares to build a pair of Daleks.

From the show during today's set up - two Heller Spitfire XVIes.

From the Australian Model Expo.  Mostly from the swamp & smell <takes deep breath>
1/24
Monogram Chevelle High Roller
Monogram '66 Chevy Malibu Street Rat
1/72
Smer LeO 451
Hobby Boss Zlin Z42-M
A Model Yak 38-U (no decals)
MPM Spitfire Mk XVIII
Special Hobby Blohm & Voss P.194
Matchbox Lysander
KP Mig 21 + etch & bang seat
Airfix TSR2MS (Yes Glenn, I did weaken and go back - but it was 1/2 price)
Airfix Mig 21
Airfix Grumman Duck
Airfix Harrier GR-3
Airfix Beaufighter TF.X
Airfix Cessna O-1 Bird Dog
Airfix S.A. Bulldog (blister pack - now that takes me right back)
Hasegawa US Pilot Ground Crew set (mainly for the crew van)
Bandai Space Battleship Yamato Cosmo Falcon
And last but definitely not least a Monogram RB-36H.

That should keep me busy for a while.
I missed out by mere seconds on a Matchbox Norseman, a Matchbox Wellesley and a Bandai YS-11.  The last one was particularly annoying as they are like hens teeth.

MPM Spitfire Mk XVIII

Best of luck with that one.  The whole front end is wrong being a distinct banana shape, the gull wing isn't pronounced enough, the area behind the cockpit is cut away under the canopy when the fuselage should continue (see the far superior Heller 16 and Airfix 22) and the wheels are crap.

Special Hobby Blohm & Voss P.194

Hmm.  Not as refined as the Revell kit but at least the whole pilot nacelle is the right shape and the jet is big enough.  The cockpit could do with some detail and the BMW 801 engine cowling is best replaced with a spare from the Italeri Ju 188.  Fit isn't too bad.

My acquisitions from Wor Show:

2 x Heller Spitfire XVIe
1 Aeroclub Spitfire FRXVIIIe fuselage conversion
1 Frogspawn BAC Canberra B(I)8
1 Ventura Spitfire IXc

From Chris Payne:
Novo Supermarine Attacker

From Kitbasher
1 Academy Spitfire F.XIVc
2 Matchbox Tempests

From Narses
Many Spitfires and Seafires.  Don't want to list them...

Have you measured the engine's diameter? DB re-issued it later with the correct size engines, but if it IS the original one you could be on a winner!  ;D

I can see those small engines sinking into the silicone rubber already.

Plus the wings appear to be moulded with a sandpaper texture.
I didn't buy it to build a Spitfire (i'm not really sure why I bought it - I think I got a bit carried away) so it's prime whiff fodder then.
Hmmmm, if I don't use them to sand filler then maybe the wings can go onto the Duck fuselage?  A Grummamarine Duckfire...
