Hi all,
Many of you will remember Greg "Cthulhu77" Ewald's inimitable style and probably have some specific builds of his in mind. He was a stalwart member of What If in its various forms, a regular on several other forums over the years, and even has several model reviews in the Modeling Madness catalogue. He was also a good friend of mine and was a great support during troubled times.

Sadly Greg died in March this year after a short illness. Shanlyn, Greg's partner of some years, got in touch with me via Facebook this week to let me know that although his stash has now been scattered to the winds his builds remain, and the time has come for these to disperse as well due to space restrictions.

Shanlyn is offering his builds for sale for the cost of shipping. I'm unable to take her up on this offer myself but I gladly offered to act as an "agent" of sorts to spread the word. She's said she will take some photos so that folk can see what's there, I will post these once I receive them.

I wanted to post and ask if anyone would be keen to take her up on this offer, as I know more than once I myself saw a Cthulhu77 Original and said "I want one!". His passing rocked us but, cliche'd as it may sound, his works of styrene art live on. It would be a tragedy for these to be consigned to a rubbish bin.

Please don't hesitate to let me know, be it via reply or PM, what you think and if you're interested.

It's a great idea. It's important to save his fabulous work

I'm potentially interested, depending on what's there and what the shipping costs are. It would be good to have something of Greg's on this side of the pond: maybe put it on the table at some shows is OGL is agreeable.

Count me in as well. I always looked forward to the whimsy (and extraordinary talent) in his work.

He is ;D

Id be more than happy to see some of Greg's stuff at some of the UK shows
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Size (of the stash) matters.

Check out both military museums for any real world stuff and art museums or collectors for the whiffs.

Thanks gents :-) As soon as I hear back from Shanlyn I'll post what she has.

It warms my heart to see this enthusiasm.

I am in as well, would love to get his Pink Submarine and maybe the Hello Kitty F-15.

I am not that far north (actually went to his house during the 2010 Nats that was held there) and could possibly drive down and pick up a load and pack anything up well enough to get overseas so offer that option to her.  Not sure how the weather will be but unseasonally warm here and the girlfriends mom lives in Phoenix so could be a dual purpose trip.

I'm offering a download link of the high res image of Greg's portrait that I made of him. I would love to post a picture of it here... too clueless to remember how.

You can see the portrait on my blog -- the colors are not nearly so over-saturated in the real image.... that's Blogger's weird problem: anything you want dark, it lightens, and vice-versa.
