I've built something without wings or rotors!

I haven't built a terrestrial vehicle since I was a teenage.

I quite enjoyed making it grubby and adding the luggage.

This was inspired by a club theme and defined during a conversation in the club rooms. The very next model shop I went into had the necessary kits (Revell M16 half-track with quad .50 mount and Airfix DUKW with British D-Day markings, both 1/76th scale), so it had to be...

Monty wanted AAA on the beach... PRONTO
Fearing that Luftwaffe low-altitude attacks would interfere with the D-Day landings, Field Marshal Montgomery demanded an early AAA presence on the beach. To satisfy this requirement, a M45 Quadmount (armed with four .50 cal Browning MGs) was mounted in the rear of the amphibious DUKW. Only the British and Canadians used them, with four of an intended six reaching the shore on the first day of the landings. With little German aerial response, the DUKW Quads were mostly used against ground targets. This one went ashore at Gold Beach on D-Day.

Whatever.

sure it is not a real duck, almost seems like one of the "funnys" that was there!
Me, I'm dishonest, and you can always trust a dishonest man to be dishonest.
Honestly, it's the honest ones you have to watch out for!!!

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

Now that is so sensible one wonders why it didn't happen. really nice model
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Thank you for expressing your appreciation of this land whif.

I've been building up to making a whiffed-up vehicle for a few years, I just needed to right idea that was simple and practical.

It might confuse a few people at Model Expo this year.
Whatever.

It will do that all right. If they could actually fit a London Fire Brigade turntable ladder to a DUKW then that will have people believing it to be real

This seems too obvious not to have been done.
Excellent job.  Well done.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Looks the part definitely, I'd have believed it was true if it wasn't on this forum!

Chris, didn't know about the turntable ladders on the Duks and went searching, quite a story in itself! Thanks for the tip off.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.
