When I got a copy of Fly Past magazine's Beaufighter special there was a photograph which intrigued me. A Beaufighter in the EDSG/DSG over white scheme. Now until that moment I'd thought this scheme had only been used on the longer ranged patrol aircraft. So I thought "why not on a Beaufighter ?" It was very short lived on the Beau' but does look good.
So here we have the Hasagawa 1/72 Beaufighter built from the box with the exception of a Quickboost tail fillet. I know most aircraft with the tail fillet had the thimble nose cone (the target tugs didn't) but I want that for something else. Another reason for this build is that it's of a bomb armed Beau and you don't see to many of those.
It's a nice kit and goes together well, recommended if you can get one at a decent price. Paints are Halfords, Xtracrylic and the usual culprits for the small details. Markings are from the kit and spares box.
So here we have Beaufighter Mk X of 455 Sqd RAAF East Coates May 1945.
