Thanks! I had surmised after I posted. I knew I had seen the stylings around here but couldn't place it.   :o

On that note, here's some more. This first one I seem to remember from somewhere as well. Posted with no credit this time. I'll share it again anyway:

"Here's a Qantas Concorde from my stepdad's collection. Wait, what? Qantas never flew the Concorde!

While sometimes I'm mystified by my stepdad's painting decisions, this one I know is intended to be a what-if. Qantas apparently had been interested in the Concorde (and or the Boeing 2707), so my stepdad built this one in anticipation of the order. In the end, they cancelled their order, but he kept this model as a conversation piece.

By Richard Molitas found on the 'The Mediocre Modelers group' page.

"Practice on a snap kit RCAF F/A18 Hornet in a winter paint scheme for operations over the frozen tundra of the great white north. Been wanting to do this camo combination for a while. Matte white, medium green and grey black. Now to apply on to a proper RCAF F/A18 kit and perhaps even an Alaskan based USAF F102."

I love this one. The colors!! I've wanted to make something in this scheme myself for quite some time. I think I at one point had some South American something or other planned that would operate back and forth between SA and Antartica.

Models of Concordes in schemes of airlines that DIDN'T fly them is an on-going theme as there were so many of them.

I don't think Aeroflot was included though.  ;D
Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage

I've seen a large "travel agent window display" scale (about 4' long) Concorde bearing a QANTAS scheme.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

I will choose a path that's clear, I will choose free will.

Looks like he had no choice. To face it in the other direction, it would be upside down. 50 years ago options for creating models were limited. Besides, it's a what-if. I applaud this man for attempting what at the time would be a difficult to achieve build. They didn't have fancy laser printers and tons of decals options. They had to "make do." Rather than criticize, I say, "Thank you for making this model."

That Qantas scheme Concorde is gorgeous .

The scheme does make her seem a tad shorter than in real life to my mind's eye though.

Very true, I reckon that's because all the RW schemes are plain white for most of their length with only narrow cheatlines, whereas that Qantas scheme has a bright coloured nose that 'pulls' the eye.

I rather fancy doing a few Whiffed Concordes, it seems I have SIX of them in The Loft, all 1/144, plus a monster Airfix 1/72 scale one. That's destined to be  G-BOAD, the one with a 'half and half' BA/Singapore Airlines scheme, but with the BA side in the lovely Landor scheme.

Daaaaamn, I didn't know there was a 1/72 one!! I'm going to have to find one and turn it into a bomber and throw B-1 markings on it.

Way ahead of you there Brad. A long time ago there was this picture in that years RAF Year Book.

When I got my 1/72 Concorde (Airfix) I knew it would be done like that.

This is where it's at, and like some other comments I've made on other threads, when I moved house everything got packed up and that's where it is still ---

I'm fairly sure I've got a thread here, but I think none of the photos will appear because they were all done in PhotoBucket.
