It was announced last year for summer 2025 release. Great "what if" material. 😊. I can see at least one in Vietnam style camouflage!
I ve also got three of their C-133 kits and a pair of C-141B kits along with the NB-36H Crusader.

Roden are not shake'n'bake kits to be sure but, with a little effort they build well. What realky lets them down is the decals. They're abysmal. Basically disintegrate the minute you put them in water 🤬🤬.

Through bitter experience, I scan the decals into my laptop and print them on transparent waterslide decal sheet. Problem solved but, one shouldn't have to do this or, source aftermarket decals.

However, the quality of the kits and, imaginative subjects outweigh the poor quality decals. 😊👍

So something similar to this is possible to build using the XC-99 model kit.

I do that with every decal sheet and every kit I buy, just in case.

You can't tell how bad the decals are until you've tried one, and then it's too late.  :banghead:

It's not a very attractive aircraft is it.

I feel obliged to think about buying one though.

It NEEDS to be in MEAF cammo with a white cockpit roof and modified with a tail ramp, disgorging all those 1/144th scale Ferrets, Saracens and Saladins that you haven't got either...

Where are the doors?
I think it needs the whole nose lifting like a Galaxy.  Does it do that?

Crossed posts: I just edited the original to suggest adding a ramp to it, which it didn't have as-built. Looks like all it did have was a cargo elevator under the back end. The front end doesn't look conducive to a lifting nose, but it could possibly have split left and right lower nose doors under the cockpit, C-124 style:

What it definitely needs is the jet engine pods from a late-model B-36...

The XC-99 only had that lifting cargo hatch under the rear fuselage for loading large items, but it was a BIG hatch!  :o

The production version was to have the standard B-36 style cockpit and canopy. It was going to have clamshell doors and ramps at the nose and under the tail. You cannot view this attachment.
