My dad always said that anyone can hit things with a hammer, but it takes a trained engineer to know which hammer to use, how hard, and where.

Precisely!

Could be why I have maybe 6-7 of them.  ;D

Actually they're the late Mrs_PR19's hammers, she had a 'thing' about them, but I was never averse to using them as required.  ;)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Print industry rule of thumb. If hitting it doesnt work first time. Use a bigger hammer!
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

That would work for most industries/applications, IMHO...

When surveying we would have to pound in stakes for new buildings, parking lots, etc. I would get the youngster in the crew to do the pounding and if they were not putting enough effort into it I would tell them to "beat it like it owes you money!" That usually produced more results. One time we had a young woman on the the crew and I told her to "beat it like an old boy friend!" That got a lot more results!

Not much been happening at all. Roughly a week and a half ago I took some short notice holidays as I was feeling depressed. Just as well that I work in my own little area as I was nearly in tears at one point, and all for no apparent reason. Been feeling a lot better over the last week though at times it still gets a bit tough. I think the driver behind this is that my other half is having a really bad time looking after her mum which is not something she is good at and in turn that's putting stress on me as I can't do anything to help as well as not seeing as much of her as I would like.
Build wise nothing has been stuck together or taken apart. I've only been looking at building a centreline pylon for the F/A-45, the T-45 has one which will be used for a Litening targeting pod. I have started the Backstory for the build, and as usual I am being very ambitious with it as I am building the model based on as much real world possibilities these carry through to the write up which I intend to present as an entry in the Whifipedia so will have active links to all the relevant pages. But a start is all that there is so far. Trying to get the story right while merging at least two real stories and modifying it to fit is not happening quickly.
I'm also feeling tired a lot these days so I don't get much done in an evening after work but at least my Doctor has prescribed some tablets that are helping my knees feel more normal than they were as I will be getting blood samples taken on Friday so I might find out by the end of the month if anything is off to cause my feeling tired.
A more positive note is that at the start of next month I get a new bed, this one I bought way back in 1992! It creaks and groans a bit these days so is due for retirement.

Not fun to read about your mood, mate. However, you're not alone. And I'm pretty certain many of us are ready to pep you as required, even if it only gives a smallish relief. So spit it out! And take care.

Whifipefia, you say. I need to google that! I wasn't aware at all. Awesome! More inspiration!

If there's nothing you can do to change things, just take it easy, mate. Hope you feel better soon.

One of the symptoms of depression is being tired all the time. Ask me how I know! Some days I can't get anything done. You are not alone so we can talk anytime. Taking care of elderly parents is one of the hardest things to do too. Any other family that can help out?

Enjoy the time off, go do something different out of the house!

Sounds like your boss is taking advantage of the furlough scheme to make sure you get paid time off without them having to pay.

Currently we get 80% of full pay minimum, with the company having to pay 20% of that 80% and more if they want to, which I doubt.

Stay safe and sane, hope things improve for you and yours.

Gondor

Well the modelling is picking up even if I am not spending a lot of time producing finished stuff but I am still building it.

This for example

The cockpit is now glued to the fuselage and wings but it has been sat like this for months but at last I am doing something with it. Fuselage spine next I think.
