Yes, having a cat deploy their grappling hooks when on ones' lap is not something to be recommended, or worth repeating... :o

Talking of which, he has trained one of my neighbours to ring my doorbell so he can get in for a late-night snack. Good job I am trying to get some modelling done at ten at night

Many moons ago mine and Jan's cat would come in via the cat flap on an evening and after a bit of fuss from Jan (he was her cat) he would lie down by the fire, snuggle into our dog's belly and fluff it up using his claws. The dog (she was mine) would look at me and I could almost read the expression in her eyes, "can I kill him, just once"  ;D  She put up with it though, she was a Dobberman by the way and could use the cat flap  :o

He stayed in and snuggled up against me once I had gone to bed, but only for an hour. He was back this morning, meowing up at the bedroom window at 5:30am, which is when I normally get up for work, and is still asleep on the bed. I even managed not to disturb him while cooking my breakfast; he is scared the smoke detector might go off, and he hates that, understandably.

"The further adventures of Spot, the cat"
This being at home thing for me, and the times that it's daylight, means that I am spotting my cat when he is around the area of the flat more often. I didn't see him until a while before noon today. He was starting to get damp as there was a light shower at the time I saw him walking through the car park from the kitchen window. The timing was spot on; we both were at the front door within seconds of each other, so he was able to walk straight in. He did look at me a bit forlornly when we got into the kitchen, so I decided to open a tin of tuna. Not only did I pour the liquid into a bowl for him, I also put some of the meat onto a saucer. Since then, he has spent the rest of the day sleeping on the bed.

Modelling-wise, I don't seem to be getting very far, but that is because I know that painting the camouflage colours will be the BIG visual progress. All the large parts, excluding the rear sections of the canopy, the wheels and the propellers, have been attached. Some of the small stuff I have no idea about. Alistair's instructions are not very clear about the parts, and some I have decided to leave off as they would end up getting broken, even if I could identify such things as the undercarriage cover mechanism. I made a choice yesterday regarding the camouflage and markings for both aircraft. I wish I had made that decision ages ago, as one aircraft has white identification markings, and I wish I had tried spraying them on rather than trying to brush paint. It would have been far easier, but too late as various items needed more masking than I was prepared to do at this time due to its complexity.
Anyway, the first camouflage paint is going on once I have posted this and finished a mug of tea. Painting of the ship will continue this evening as well.

Model making has stopped. I have got a reasonable distance with each of the new builds I will be taking to Perth tomorrow. Packing will be done tomorrow after I have breakfast, and as it's a fairly short drive for me, I hope to get there early enough to get a decent parking spot well out of the way of the gym bunnies.

Seeing that Chris is now the forum's I.T. guy, after fixing his own computer problems, perhaps he would like to visit and persuade my printer to accept the sheets of labels that I am trying to print off. During a conversation with OGL over the weekend, it was mentioned that there were templates for printing labels, which meant no need for long-winded setting up of Word. So, having duly downloaded various profiles for the sizes of labels that I have, I have been trying to persuade my printer to do a test print.
Unfortunatly the printer says that the paper I put in the MP tray is not A4, despite the size measured being the same as A4 and no options to not select A4 as a print option and just select the measurements. No matter what I try, my Prother MFC-J5740DW printer is not cooperating, and I am getting dangerously close to blowing my top. God knows how high my blood pressure is getting  :banghead:  :banghead:
After a mug of tea, I will download a PDF version of the template, then maybe try looking for something similar from the Brother website in the hope of getting around a problem that should not be a problem.  :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead:

Have you gone into the print settings and told it it's labels and not paper?

No option for that.

I did however, find a user-defined page size setting and through various iterations or trial and error, found out that the problem was the orientation of the sheet in the MP tray  :banghead:

I was assuming that the required orientation was portrait, not landscape. Once I changed that, it worked quite well. Just ordered a pack of smaller labels, as what I have, while useful, is too big for what I am wanting to do, which is print labels for the paint draws. I want to label the draws, not cover them.

So on the topic of printing labels etc, I found this site has Word and pdf templates for various sheets of labels. I've been using one today to do the side labels for my boxes. Only needed a couple of go's to get the paper alignment correct.

I went with this site and other than the problem getting the paper the right way around, I have had no problem. I have even ordered some new labels, to a size I think is better for what I need.

That's weird   Still sorted in the end.

As today, Tuesday, is the last day of my holiday, I thought it a good idea to look and see what needed repairing from travelling to and from shows. I knew when I was at Perth that a set of undercarriage doors were adrift from my swing-wing Lightning, so that was pulled out of its travel box. So I happily glued the doors back on, and realised that the same doors from the other side were missing.  :banghead:
Looked in the box, no missing doors or anything else loose other than a couple of cocktail sticks. I thought it was a good idea to look in the other similar box. I have, in fact, looked through all the transport boxes, including the one with the packing peanuts in it, and the Lightning parts are nowhere to be seen. I have even looked over my modelling bench without finding the parts. I should be able to scavenge something together from the various Lightning kits I have around, so not a great worry.
Another non-worry that I found was a wheel off my Swift F7. This is a simple add glue and attach problem. Far worse is what has happened to my F-4. Some is easy to fix, such as the Triple carrier that fell off, and the undercarriage doors. The real problem is the main undercarriage leg that has broken just where it flattens and goes around the tyre to the hub. It's not a common weak point, but it obviously is a weak point. What I find suspicious is that all the damage to the F-4 is on the same side. Something happened to that side of the F-4 to apply pressure to break the leg, which then caused the rest to part company from the airframe.
It could have been far worse, but it also could have been less.
