I have just finished contacting EVRI, very unsatisfying. The phone number only connects you to an automated service, which didn't recognise the number I was entering. So try the chat service. Again, an automated service, but better than the phone. Big downside was limited ability to enter information in the chat. The responses were better, but it was still easy to tell that it was an automated service. When asked to give a feedback score, I gave a 2, because the system raised a couple of incident tickets, one for each of the parcels I am expecting, but also low because it was not a human I was chatting with. That is not to say that a human would have got a higher score due to the company's poor service, but it would have been a better service. I await a phone call, ot two.

Exactly the same experience as I had with their systems Alistair. Except I wasn't quite as generous with my feedback.

I now have a couple of very nice emails from Evri automated response service. Unfortunately, as expected, there is no sign of any updates to either parcel on their app.

I've heard from a friend that he was quoted a delivery number for an order, but it wasn't recognized by the postal system... he emailed the store and they sent him another one which was... he suspects the initial order wasn't even sent, and they sent him a bogus number to keep him happy/off their backs for the time it took to get more stock in and actually send it...

But that's silly talk; which company would ever resort to such underhand, deceitful tactics??  :o  :-X  :-X

Absolutely, nobody would do something like that

I had something very similar happen with a delivery recently. I won't say who the delivery company was, but it wasn't Royal Mail or Parcel Force

And there's a thing too, why are they separate companies, whereas they are actually the same one? Just to confuse us and stop us complaining about their lack of 'service'?

I think it was done under the previous Government in order to make them more easily "privatiseable". I may be wrong though.

As for their service ? I have no issues whatsoever with it. My local delivery offices and postmen/women are excellent   Much rather buy from a company that users them to deliver, like the Big H

I agree with that statement. I have a good bunch to deal with in my local Royal Mail. Evri, on the other hand have sent me another pair of emails saying that there has been no movement with either of the parcels, no surprise there. They are, however, going to up the messages to the Manager of the depot, so perhaps I shall get a message on Tuesday saying that both are ready for collection?

If it's their depot.  Why can't they just pick up a phone?

Because there is not just one depot in the UK. To save cost you have a central call centre or similar, which then sends messages out to the necessary depots.

Royal Mail deals mainly with letters and small parcels whereas Parcel Force deals mainly with bulkier or heavier packages/parcels.

Having dealt with UPS, I can tell you that each UK  depot area of theirs  is numbered................and Preston/Lancaster/Blackpool was ................AREA 51!!

Well, there's your problem then - they're in a Warehouse, being investigated By Top Men...

Gondor

The Evri bot has not been able to find either of the two parcels I had raised problems about. I now have a third item that is overdue. There is absolutely no way to complain to this company.

Really pissed off with them. Now one sender has made a mess with my address accoriding to Royal Mail, as they have returned a package to the sender due to the address being wrong. Welcome to 2026, have a nice year!

I now have no option but to raise issues with eBay, which will hit the seller and not the courier company!

A conscientious seller should take note of multiple complaints about a courier and stop using them.  If the seller is not conscientious and ignores multiple complaints then they deserve to take a hit.

Unfortunately this reality is not a perfect world.
