Quote from: Gondor on December 25, 2025, 09:37:07 AMI have also noticed that there is a dark ring around the upper part of my vision in my left eye. I am assuming that is the edge of the gas/liquid interface and shall keep an eye on the size of the ring, which should get smaller over time.

Alastair - you're absolutely correct about the gas bubble line, which will move steadily down your eye so that you can see more clearly above it.  It will then morph into a circle in the centre of your eye,  before getting smaller and then finally disappearing in toto one day, like a very slow moving old TV when you used to shut it down...

Keep the faith

Yup, it's just what the doctor said. However, he didn't say that the surface of the liquid would look bitty. Definitely that gawd that yesterday I got past the head down limit. I slept!  You're bringing back memories to me with talking about old TV's. Me and My sisters used to be the remote control for the TV, not that there were many options for channels back then.

Ah, memories... a small B&W set in the corner, and Shutdown at midnight.... not that I was (supposed to be) up at that time, of course!  ;)

Glad you are improving, Alastair - keep it up!

Not been doing much other than enjoying not having to get out of bed in the mornings. Visited my mum this afternoon as usual. She is definitely showing her age now, wondering if I had to pay to use the bus up to hers. Not done that for almost five years. I had to remind her that I do have a bus pass, valid throughout Scotland. She had an eye exam on Monday, the same day I had my op, apparently she needs new glasses. I will need to get new glasses later as well, because the left eye will not have repaired exactly as it was before.
Modelling-wise, I have done very little. Some tidying up and boxing of items to go up into the loft. Those boxes need to be catalogued so that if I want to retrieve something, I don't spend half a day trying to find which box it's in. I plan to get that done in the next few days, and then I may think about getting a haircut, certainly a beard trim, next year. When during the year I am not saying, but sometime next year for definite.

But you'll miss all the sense of Adventure!  ;D
And of course, you find all the other stuff you'd forgotten about, or something you have a sudden burst of zeal for...

OTOH, it's a definite mojo-killer to look through half the Stash for that One Thing...  :-\

Ah, but the sense of adventure is trying to find the correct box in the first place. There are Fifty-Two boxes in the loft, with another two to go up there, and they are not necessarily in numerical order. And when those two boxes are put into the loft that will be over seven hundred individual kits up there.

I think this is one of those questions  better not answered.....especially if one's significant other is in the vicinity.

It can lead to an inquisition touching on "Declared Stash"  what people think you have;  "Perceived Stash"  What is visible  and "Actual Stash"  which is probably a number of a different order of magnitude..

Such questions can be counter-attacked by mentioning similar stashes of  'handbags' and shoes'...................

Exactly. My ex got into building models from me. She was also a crafter, so we had simmilar if different hobbies. It also meant that we would have had to move into a bigger place if we fully moved in together, as we would have each needed a craft room.
