I'm thinking retro EVs in 1/24 or 1/25 scale. There's loads of car and truck kits to choose from, I'll require plenty of plastic card to blank over the grill or fill in the gaps on the front and rear of the chosen model kit. The hubcaps will be scratched built and the interior changed.
Got a Shelby Mustang GT350H and a Ford Capri RS2000 that I can experiment on, probably look better than the MachE and the EV Ford Capri.

I came across the Mancro C-123T,which is an upgrade of the Fairchild C-123B converted by Waco Airmotive back in September 1979. They replaced the radial engines with two Allison T56-A-7B turboprops and the nacelles from a C-130B/E. Originally sponsored by the Thailand Government until they ran into funding shortages after purchasing three C-130Hs. Only one prototype was built and flown.
There's several 1/72 model kits available for this build.

The Lockheed ECX-130 with three CFM turbofan engines, would have to be a kitbash probably in 1/144 scale and the jet powered C-130 is doable just need to buy the engines. Or the Bell Aerospace Company AMST proposal (Advanced  Medium Short  Take-off and Landing Transport) which looks like a C-130 with airliner swept wing, T-tail and a pair of turbofan engines.

The alternative to the Aero Spacelines Guppy based on the Lockheed Constellation and the Douglas DC-6B , well I know it should be the DC-7 but judging by the amount of work needed to convert the Heller DC-6B into a DC-7 I might as well stick with the Heller kit. Then there's a Guppy based on the Convair B-36 bomber, Fairchild Model M-534.

I'll be sticking with real Mosquitoes for now, possibly with a smattering of real DH Hornets too.  There's a pair of NF21 prototypes I'd like to do, along with the Sea Hornet prototype and at least one Hornet F1 (I'm torn between a Central Fighter Establishment one, or the Hornet Conversion Flight).  I may add some whiffed Hornet PR.5s too, using some assembled Frog/Novo ones.  There's quite a few to use up.

I'll be adding some other things into my Highball lineup, such as a Short Sturgeon and possibly a Wyvern, although that is going to be somewhat challenging and I've yet to decide on the mark.  An S.4 would be easier, but the TF.1 is more likely but expensive.  There's several Mosquitoes still to finish for that (4) plus another one or two to do.

I have just thought about turning the Avro York into a bomber or maritime patrol aircraft. The internal layout could be similar to that of the Lockheed Neptune or why not just put the fuselage on top of the wings, engines and landing gear of the Avro Shackleton MR.2/MR and keep the bomb bay where it is. I'd have to change the name maybe York Minister or something more appropriate.

as i say every year   ( inserts the obligatory postmodern jukebox version of pink and the brain  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OqMs9WsJg2k    )
build stuff and have fun
ive the Chieftain AVRE to finish,  after that i will be switching between 28mm figs and 1:48 warrior kits, in an effort to try to get units and the battlegroup built up
so next planned are either Athena Minis cold weather / post apoc British squadys  or the recently got GZG combat Nuns
I also want to try to get the 1:48 fuel truck done soon as well to keep the cold weather  force going.

plans however rarely survive contact with my minds wanderings, and the insperations that strike.
the things you learn, give your mind the wings to fly, and the chains to hold yourself steady
take off and nuke the site form orbit, nope, time for the real thing, CAM and gridfire, call special circumstances.

I'll be doing some 2TAF fighters, trying to finish several Martin Baker fighters and Tempests.  The thought of a Hornet F1 in 2TAF markings is appealing, but it'll likely be a converted Frog/Novo one as I have many part started, let alone stashed.

What are these "plans" that everyone keeps talking about?
I have no plans. I don't need no plans!
I just make up things as I go.  ;D  ;D
Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.

Here's my (tentative) plans for this year.

1. Finemolds 1/72 F-4EJ (current on the bench).
2. Hasagawa 1/72 RF-4EJ
3. Sword 1/72 FJ3 (Jolly Roger)
4. Emhar 1/72 F3H (Jolly Roger)
5. Hobby 2000 1/72 V-1400 (a Nato Centric F-8)
6. Hobby Boss P/A-10K (Anit-Ship A-10)
7. Italeri 1/72 UH-1N - Green Hornets Vietnam

I'll probably throw one or two simple OOB "palate-cleansing" builds in there somewhere if I have time.

I've been working on the Ian McQue diorama I started a long time ago. I've been working on a skymark aerial bouy.
Next will be the Schinibblemobil truck. No time line for anything. I might end up switching between projects as my interests vary.
Somewhere in there I might start the S-tank/Stryker kit bash.

Another build in the pipeline would be the Curtiss-Wright CW-20 if the triple tail fins from the Lockheed Constellation fit there could be a swap of the tails.
The Constellation could get the turboprops from the Convair 240 series conversion set ,need to buy another set.

That's my usual m.o.  ;)

I have another Christmas present for the Bro-in-Law to do. I scored a 1/200 Herc and have just bought some RNZAF markings; this time I can add a bit of 'life' to it and have the back open with a pallet coming out. Well, that's the plan... (sadly, he prefers the BO-RING! All-Grey Scheme. Ah well, it's his model, so the Customer Is Always Right).

A few in-progress builds to finish, especially as I'm about out of finished stuff to post.  *sigh*
A few are *this* close to being done, so I need to Digititus Extractum...

There will likely be a few ( or more) new starts, but I'm not sure what... depending on how I'm feeling when the transfers arrive from Kit, there could be a couple of RW Fw-190s from non-Luftwaffe users... watch this space.  ;)

Maybe even some armour, goodness knows there are enough in-progress ones I need to finish.  :banghead:

The USAF uses some two tone schemes on SOF C-130s. Gunship grey over some type of light grey. I don't think it's used on regular C-130s.

I have been reading about the Canadair North Star  based on the Douglas DC-4 but there's more parts from the DC-6 that were used. From what I have found the tail end was all that was left of the DC-4 as the DC-6 apart from the fuselage (C-54) was used . The Rolls-Royce Merlin  engines are part of the AIM Transport Wings range.
I can foresee two builds if the Mach2 DC-4/C-54  and the Heller DC-6B kits are used.  The Mach2 wings will need a lot of attention.

McColm

It's looking as though I will be buying a few more 1/72 Heller Humbrol Douglas DC-6B Super-Cloudmaster model kits and changing the engines. One idea is to fit for Bristol Hercules engines taken from the Shorts Stirling or Handley Page Halifax not quite the Hermes but something similar 🤔.
A kitbash using the Mach2 Breguet Br.1150 Atlantic, so four Rolls-Royce Tyne engines.

I still think that if the Boeing 747 was fitted with turboprops it would be a dead ringer for the Lockheed Constitution
Then there's the Boeing Model 495, to me it does look like the Lockheed C-130 with four Rolls-Royce Tyne engines and the main landing gear stored in the wings. I did start a build using the Frog or Novo Avro Shackleton MR.3 engines kitbash using a C-130E. The landing gear could come from the Shorts Stirling

Possible kitbash using the Fairchild C-123 with the Rolls-Royce Dart engines based on a concept of using the Fokker F-27 engines.

McColm

The Convair CV-240 series should of had four engines instead of two, I did have an idea to convert one from Mach2 into something similar to the B-32 Dominator. The wing would need to be moved but having tried that before it's best to leave it where it is for now.
