Strewth, WAY above what it was worth really.

Two buyers who just WOULDN'T be beaten. :(
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I topped out at £24 but when I saw the final price I was astonished 😲.  Fortunately I already have one kit, plus a vacuform model of my dad's that will be turned into a 2 seater of some sort.  I haven't decided yet whether tandem or side-by-side, but either might not unreasonably be influenced by Hunter cockpits.

I've got the Maintrack vacform original too, and it's superb, but then it was Mr. Stevens who made the masters.  :bow:  :bow:

It's great (as a seller) when that happens.  I've had it a couple of times.  Got waaaaay more than I was expecting in both cases.

Had it happen when selling a couple of kits. One went above 3 figures and I'd started at £20  :o

Yeah, I put a bid in at something similar just in case my estimation of the market completely wrong, but I never seriously expected to win it.

I have built one Whirlybird version and have another two in the stash, one to be a side-by-side naval aircraft. That one will get bumped up the build list a bit in the hope of finishing it before Stuart produces his 3D kit of the aircraft.

I had that happen with a 1/32 Airfix Jaguar 420 car kit It went for £85 because two guys REALLY wanted it!  :o
