P-40 Twin engine
« on: November 25, 2010, 06:07:02 pm »
When I see the original P-40 twin I thought it was a imposible bit of metal. I make this transformation to make something more aesthetically acceptable.

Interesting way of doing it.  I've only seen the above the wing engine pod version which was apparently a real life machine.

I still have two P-40's in the box on the workbench, and I'm tempted to build a variant..
Already knew this one, but it's still inspiring to look at.

I like!  And did something similar to a Spitfire a couple of years ago.

Just think, you could have THREE sharkmouths on the same aircraft!  ;D
Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Nice work!

Good thinking, Kit!  Or you could have a shark mouth, a death's head and a parrot on one aircraft (pirate's craft, maybe?).
Cheers,

Nice Work, Pablo. You have blended the engines in exceptionally well.

I have such a project in mind, too. "We" know that Curtiss made a twin-engined P-40 as a mock-up, and several people I know have tried to make one. Yours looks the best, I might add (UNTIL you see mine, perhaps?).

Mine will have a "bobbed" nose with armament, and be painted in a "Monument Valley" desert scheme with "Kokopelli" Native American insignia (white kokopelli on a blue circular background, with small red ring around the whole thing).

The "American Kokopelli Confederation" of Southwest Native American peoples decides to support the US in the war and offer their small air force. My official name for it will be the "Navahawk", known to the natives as a "Blood Brother".

In the meantime, I will admire yours!

My mind is like a compost heap: both "fertile" and "rotten"!

Delicious model, so pretty...  (whistle)
Do you know Glenn's model of the 'real' one? ( http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,21379.315.html ) more serious but your one has more beautiful lines, like too pretty to be true
