The Mosquito's are finally available. I'll be awaiting their arrival at Hannants before ordering though.

I wonder how they'll compare to the Tamiya and Airfix Mossies?

I've a mind to build the Airfix B XVI and SH NF 30 alongside each other to compare.

At the list I should of been able to do a visual comparison by the time we do our Brick Lane excursion  ;)

I've got the Tamiya Mossie in 48th and man its a bootyful bird ,,one day i might even build it  ;D
Now i've got no idea if Tamiya's 72nd one is mind blowing but knowing Tamiya ...it definitely won't be anything to skoff at with it being damn near a total shake and bake model .
Typical Tamiya at the end of the day and i'm interested to see a comparison for sure .
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Also on the Mossie front, they say that the first runs have sold exceptionally well, so they expect to do second runs soon. They also say that they may do an NF Mk.XV high-altitude fighter version as well.

I expect a Turbinlite conversion kit being available within the week.  ;)

MPM did it in 2011. Same basic molds that this one is from as well.

Would of thought so, yes. The MPM kit needed a little work but did go together quite well.

SH may well have cleaned the moulds up though as they've done with the Fw 187.

Just wish they'd come back to Telford

Anyone who's got their grubbies on the Special Hobby Mosquitoes had a close look at/built their kit(s), yet?

They look good in the box, but I've heard they're a tad chubby mid-fuselage.

IIRC there's a lot of bomber/PR/night fighter parts sharing - are the sprues in fact identical, other than the decals?

Revell also released this kit in 2016. https://www.scalemates.com/kits/revell-03939-lockheed-p-70-nighthawk--1012784

I built the "old" Revell P-70 back when it was originally released in 1975, P-70 parts added to their A-20 kit.

I've got the nightfighter boxing Dave, and it looks really nice in the box. There do seem to be a lot of unused parts looking at the sprue layout in the instructions. These include a lot of clear parts, so yes looks like one box fits all ?

She's next in the build queue, so should be starting her within the next couple of weeks. I'll let you have first impressions in my Blog as and when.

As for being slightly chubby around the waist ? Happens to us all eventually and she is the Mk XXX

So a whif 633 Sqn originally-a-bomber-but-pretends-to-be-a-fighter build (i.e. bomber canopy on an old Airfix NF.II/F.VI/FB.XVIII kit would make it a proper whif) is possible??
