Old Wombat

Any of the myriad RN armed trawlers would be good to see.

Honestly, all the small auxiliary ships from the First and Second World Wars would be nice to see. They're one of those warship types that tend to get ignored.

I'd love to see the SC-1, SC-497, and PC-461s in injection kits.

And any more fodder for Ian McQue style stuff is to be encouraged.

I have Plans and Ideas for a slew of 1/72 WW2 Fast Patrol Boats - most of which will involve a greater or lesser degree of scratchbuilding/converting, but that's part of the fun.
Oh, and a few Vietnam-era ones, too.

Getting the hulls to base them on at reasonable prices, however... yeah...

If I could find some cross-sections, I could get them laser cut in cardboard and go from there. Anyone know of some cheap/free sources, please?

Try Janes.  T

Try Janes all the World Ships or something similar.  They would offer waterline drawings.

What kind of "Fast Patrol Boats"?
PT, MTB, S-Boot type? HDML? Small destroyer/corvette type?

Plan and profile drawings of most types of boats and ships aren't that hard to find, drawings with stations, waterlines and buttlines shown is another story.

Let me know what types you need and I'll have a shufti through my loads o'crap and various sites I've bookmarked over the years. Some of which are no doubt dead by now.

Cool, I appreciate that; thanks, Jon.  ;)

I have the Airfix MTB and ASR hulls, also a Revell MTB which I will use for something, maybe an MGB, to go with the ASR-based one.

I am looking to do a Higgins PT, Vietnam PBR and Swift (yes, Revell but $$$).

Last night I found there are some 1/100 boats on Thingiverse, and while that is now an option, the layering is a pain.

So any 'grist for the mill', as it were, or options would be very much appreciated.

RAF High Speed Launches

I put them all together into a single 42 page 12.2 MB PDF back in 2018, I cleaned up and sharpened the images
a bit before creating the PDF. You're welcome to a copy. PM me an email address.

Cheers, Jon

Thanks, Jon - PM inbound.

This is one that I don't think's been modelled very much in the past. Plenty of what if possbilities: more power, forward-facing guns, shorter wings, etc...

One of the reasons the Skua and the Roc were so slow was that they had excessively large wings in order to meet a ridiculous requirement that all naval aircraft had to be capable of being launched from a cruiser's gunpowder catapult, just like a BIPLANE Walrus or Seafox.

I've got both this and it's Skua stable mate in the stash from the initial release. Fair few years ago, so probably will take a little effort, but it has to be better than the Pavla kit which I did try to build. That's the only kit I've ever discarded part way through, and indeed passed it on. To Lee I think ?

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Further to Harold's comment it was a
result of some retaining silly notions
that convertability from wheels to floats was still a desirable feature. Why you'd want to carry a single clumsy turret fighter floatplane on a battleship or cruiser is beyond me.
