Most people forget that in WWII Nazi Germany and Russia started as allies.  They actually signed a non agression pact prior to the war and it wasn't until Hitler ordered operation Barbarosa that Russia started figting what is known there as the Great Patriotic War.  Russia actually purchased BF-109 aircraft from Germany and deployed them.  Eventually they captured many other samples as the Red Army advanced over German occupied territory.

Depicted here in winter camouflage is a Meserschmit BF-109.  I hope you enjoy it.

It all starts with Cheap Acrylic paints, I used apple barrel acrylic paints from Michaels thined down and applied.  The first coat is a base of Testors Acrylic light ghost gray.  Once that is dry I covered it with the Apple Barrel white.  Once that is dry using Apple Barrel Grey I applied it using a Qtip and mottling the still wet white below it.  That give the mottled look of the aircraft as you see it.  Once the model completely dries (with acrylic less than two hours) you can cover it with Future floor wax undiluted just use a wide brush.  Once that dries (another hour) you can apply decals and you can seal them with another coat of Future and welcome to the winter of 42 in Syberia.

We don't just embrace insanity here.  We feel it up, french kiss it and then buy it a drink.
