Ok it's about time i start this thread as i am up to the painting of the camo. stage.
The back story will follow a little closer to comp[letion of the model.
Not quite 'Nazis in Space', but not too far off.
I hope you enjoy.

Any comments will be appreciated.

Very cool.  Do you envision it as a two-part shuttlepod like Surak's in Star Trek: The Motion Picture (where the pod can leave the engine section and return)?

Styrene in my blood and an impressive void in my cranium.

Thanks for the response.

No, it's only in 2 pieces as that's the way the Enterprise kit comes, and it will also make it easier to paint.

Tophe

congratulations
for the ones (like me) with a small screen, here is a little view:

Thanks Tophe for making the pics. smaller and easier to view. I'm still trying to figure out how to do it myself.
Cheers.

. tanktastic43: with this great model, you should change your name into fanktastic43...
. the topic title is the year 2364, are you sure it is not 2262?
. for picture size change, a free software is Irfanview ( http://www.irfanview.com/ ) that I tried with success a long time ago, before coming back to a software I have bought (the Canadian Corel PhotoPaint)

Thanks for the software tip. Will play around with it for a while.

With regards to the dates, it took a moment or two to get the joke.  :banghead: Good one.

Very eye catching. :o Looking forward to the finish.

Well at last i've completed my first whif since joining this site.
I have a back story of sorts, but having changed it so many times in my head, i'm not sure if it works, but here goes.

With apologies to Star Trek fans out there (please note, i am a fan).

The Nazi's, now pronounced - na-zee's, have been an isolated faction of the Human Race for hundreds of years now, and have wandered through the galaxy on one, or possibly more, colony type space vessels.
Their sole purpose, has become to seek forgiveness from the rest of human kind, for the sins committed by their forefathers during the period in Earth history known as 'the Second World War'.

They have become a martial society where all citizens serve for a period of time in the armed forces, the minimum period being 5 earth years.

The equipment itself has been inspired by many of the technological advancements in their so called 'Dark Period', mainly to remind them of how good they were as a forward thinking nation, but also as a constant reminder of why they have become isolated.

With the appearance of the Borg, the time has come, they feel, to start making things right.

The craft shown is the Me262-I3 Fighter/Inteceptor. This is the standard colony or carrier based fighter and designed solely for off world use.

Powered by: BMW FTL Mk3 engines, making it capable of short jumps at warp 1.1. (making it the smallest known craft that has warp speed capability?) For sub light speed, it uses the DB 0209 impulse engine, which gives it a speed of approx. 0.6 of light speed.

Armed with: Rheinmettal series II rail guns, which are powered by and mounted under the main engines, and 4x Mk18 kinetic cannons mounted in the nose section.
