If you look in WHSmiths, there is a catalogues called 'Hobbies', whichmay still have a decal system up for sale.  Basically, it is decal paper that can go in a computer printer - you then print your own designs on it, and use a supplied aerosol spray to turn the resulting sheet into waterslide decals, which you can then cut out and use as normal!

I've used the laser decal paper with some good success.  The real drawback is that you can't do opaque white (or opaque anything), unless you use the white paper, and then you can't have clear spots.  I've been considering one of those cheaper dry-transfer setups for a long time now, but just haven't cowboyed up and got one.  I have some of the paper, but no ready access to a (useable) laser printer.

i've used that method before and got great results on some of my other whiff models as my dad recently bought an alps printer purely to decals for his code3 corgi models if anyone has seen them.
