Chaps,

I need a name for a Maritime Strike/Recon aircraft.
RAF....current/future.

The numbering will be..."NAME" MRS.1

Any ideas or suggestions welcome.

A bird?
A sea creature?
A mythical creature?
A god?

I've used "Kraken" for my RN/RAF F-35s.

Thanks

I've always thought Mythology is a great untapped source of names....what nationality is it for Terry?

I agree, the mythology route is very untapped and a great route to go.

Mix a mythological sea creature & the fact that RAF martime recce birds tend to be based in Scotland, how about Nessie MRS.1??? :P

Leviathan?
Hydra?
Manta?
Stingray?
Narwhal?
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

What'll it look like? Mossie's suggestions are all really good but they conjure up very specific images when applied to aircraft.

Rad-

Are we looking at maritime strike/recon in the context of a Bucc or Tornado loaded with Sea Eagle, or as a Nimrod/Orion type?

So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Radish

RAF in the context of the Buccaneer, etc..

Some great suggestions so far, chaps.

The Marlin MRS.1 sounds a good one.......unless there's another that takes my fancy and anything's possible!
Like others, I'm notorious for changing my mind!

Good idea, Lee.

I've not thought of a "maker" so the field is open:

Short Stingray?

Martin Manta?
