Real Manga Bikes!

There's a lot of crazy looking bike concepts out there, but these two are a particularly wild.  Like I said, wouldn't look out of place in a Manga flick!

Yamaha Tesseract four wheeled 'bike'.  Handles like a bike but has the stability of a car.  Yamaha's attempt to get the softer ones of us on bikes.  It's a concept, but may be put into production if there's enough interest, there's a few of these 'bike for car drivers' concepts about at the moment.  The styling will probably be a bit more sober on a production machine though!

Dodge Tomhawk.  Absolute beast, using a five litre Viper engine & designed to do 300mph, although no-ones dared to yet, it's probably not stable enough!  Purely a concept, Dodge have no intention of getting into the bike market, it was purely a marketing tool as part of their 'extreme' image.

The reason I've put these in the general modeling forum is, do you think they might ever get kitted?  Tamiya did the Bimota Tesi 1D a while back before it was in production, simply because it was unusual.  I could see them doing the Tesseract since it's a Japanese product, maybe not the Tomahawk.  Would make for a great Manga style dio!

If you've got anything similar, post it up!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Well there's the Can-Am Spyder, maybe not quite as bizarre:

And this one is a little more conventional but still way cool:

If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

I like the Yamaha Tesseract, looks a bit like a road going quad bike, however the Dodge Tomahawk looks like it was made to go in a straight line. And it is a disgrace to american bikes, such as harley davidson <_<

Huh? Its much cooler than any Jurassic Harley could ever hope to be.

Actually Thomas the wheels all act independantly and operates much in the same way as the Yamaha does (they're just closer together), and there's not much more American than a honking great big V-10 engine.  I think I read somewhere that it was styled after the bike that appears in the Sci-Fi movie 'Tron'

Well, the Tesseract is a bit more than that, the body of the bike will lean in to corners like a tradional bike, but the four wheels stay firmly on terra firma.  Even with a quad, if you take it too hard around a corner the wheels will start to lift & you can tip the things easier than you'd think.

The Tomahawk is purely a concept bike only & yes, I think it's designed for straight line speed, it's styled very much like a drag bike, long & low to the ground.  Your not going to want to turn hard at 300mph!.  So it's not really taking anything away from other bikes like Harley's, it's a different machine for a different purpose.  I'm with Jon though on Harleys though, their styling has been stagnant for years, although their newest range is starting to change things.  Harley have always been terrified they'll lose their constant customers, who as a fan base are a little stuck in their ways.  About time Harley bit the bullet, they'll find the fan base will move with them as long as they don't do anything too silly.

Robert, that Honda has some very aggressive styling & those Spyder's look like fantstic fun!  A bit longer & they'd be quite Manga-ish too.

EDIT, Sorry Robert, a little bit behind you with nearly the same post!

Here's another view of the Tomahawk:

Of course we could alway go turbine powered:

Lastly and very conventional, what a Harley really should look like, V-Rod powered Superbike:
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

IMO it's Harley that's the disgrace. Holding on to outdated concepts (the V-twin at the wrong block angle so it always vibrates like crazy), and surviving purely on their image.

Awesome bikes, thanks for posting
Will die without understanding this world.

I'm kind of partial to the Piaggio MP3, but I'm short of the $6000 I'd need to buy one.

Does this qualify Simon?

Just seen this on the Motorcycle News website

Oh, yeah!  You know, I was watching BSG last night, the one when they encounter the cylons from the original series and I don't know why, but this bike reminds me of them!  Or maybe Maximilian from The Black Hole.
