I am surprised at the lack (at least perceived by me) of whiff related to people asking for their independancy (ie : Basques, Corsicans, Scotts , Flemmish/wallons etc...) So noone with Morane with triskell marking of the Free Brittany air force ? etc...

There have beena couple of pretty long threads dealing with an independent Scotland.

How about a new N. American country made up of Alaska, British Columbia, Alberta, Sask., Manitoba, N./S. Dak, Montana, Idaho, Washington State, and the Peoples Republic of Oregon, and Wyoming?    Good people, gold, oil, uranium, coal, fishing, better fishing, trees, food production, good people, more gold, tourism, and more good people.

Why not?    :P

And as has been mooted here in the past, a new Republic of Texas with or without all the territory that Texas brought with it when it originally entered the Union.  If it takes -all- the territory, that'd really impact a number of other states.

The standing joke when I lived in Alaska was that the Alaska legislature was going to split the state into four new states, thus making Texas the fifth largest state :)
