My LHS has a Special Hobby DH Hornet F.1 on the shelf for a bit of a discount (discounted 25% to $22).  I love the Hornet and can think of a few good whifs for it, but dont know what ot expect form the kit.  This particular shop runs a bit on the high side, so I dont even know if this is a decent price or not.

Though I like to think my skills are halfway respectable, I have always built relatively easy mass-produced kits from the big-name makers.  I have no experience with a limited run kit and dont want to plop down $22 for something that I will struggle to do justice to.

Anyone know what this kit is like, or have any experience with it?

Thanks!!

So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Hi there AeroplaneDriver,
I built this kit on commission last year, and it did put up a bit of a fight.the main problem was wing joints and engine naceles. the canopy needed a bit of jiggery pokery to sit correctly as the top of the seat sits too high.
The up side is the decals are beautifull, the overall shape is spot on, and the detail is superb.
My advice ,for $22 grab it! just be prepared to put a little extra work in
and before glueing check EVERYTHING ..twice..just take your time and you will be rewarded with a fine looking bird.
Cheers Steve.

Thanks for the input guys.

The kit in question is in a very worn box, as if it has been floating around on their shelf for some time.  I think it's a kit I'd like to try, but maybe I'll wait for a bit more of a discount.
