Well, looks like Leigh took the plunge and invaded the event with the highest concentration of JMNs and survived.  It's not over yet but it seems to be going well.  Next year's going to be on the east coast, in Virginia Beach so I'm going to start budgeting for that one.  If there's enough of us we could run another table?  It'll also give me a goal to build more whatifs.  What do you think?  We have all year to plan for this.

I should be able to make it next year.  I guess one good thing about Texas-I can travel anywhere in the country cheaply!

Leigh

Oh God lemme get some sleep first will ya before you start asking these questions.

I invite all and any criticism, except about Eric The Dog, it's not his fault he's stupid

Some things to bear in mind, now that we have done our successful D-Day landing (we have taken the beachead and taken out the guns, it is now time for you guys to go inland):

1.  The person organizing the Virginia beach whiff display should be a member of IPMS and preferably a local.  That way they can ask for more table space if the need should arise.

2.  They should start planning things from now.  For example, Leigh's idea of having a book with the backstories and image of the whiff in question was excellent, however my own images were not good nor consistent enough for our purposes- I also did not have time to make them decent enough).  With enough time, we can get decent enough images for the display book.  Make everything look professional.

3.  There should be a push this year for ground based vehicles too if you are planning on attending.  I believe that we would have gotten far more curious folks to come by the table (for the record, we did have a lot of traffic come by the table and with positive responses, we may even have a few converts to the cause) if we would have had a few tanks and ships instead of just airplanes.

4.  T-shirts with Logo for the site should be created for those whiffers attending.  Otherwise, once you leave the display table, you're just another face in the crowd.

These are my thoughts.  More will come to mind after I have had some rest. B)

Now, if D-day was IPMS Nationals 2007 in Anaheim CA, breakout is IPMS Nationals 2008 in Virginia Beach VA, then the battle of the Bulge is at IPMS Nationals 2009 in Columbus OH.  There has to be a large enough concentration of whiffers within a 6 hour drive of Columbus OH.  Things to ponder.
