There's one of those coincidences again... I just unmasked about 10 minutes ago the first part of the striping for Suez invasion stripes. Come here, very first thing I see is "Suez".

Not seen but heard this past Saturday. I was out in the backyard, the weather was crap
with a very low cloud ceiling and, as usual, I could hear a large jet going over but it wasn't
visible due to the clouds. I'm used to all the Boeing wide-body types flying over the house,
we're in the pattern for Paine Field, and I was thinking "that kinda sounds like a 777, but
not" and I couldn't figure it out. Later I realized, based on timing etc., that it was the 777X
prototype. It sounds different with the new engines.

It was a gorgeous morning and the sky was full of contrails which I wouldn't normally comment on, but one set of three which belonged to 3 aircraft flying along on what appeared to be a perfect staggered line abreast formation was certainly worthy of comment.

Nice one Chris ! I remember seeing a pair of VC-10s with a flock of Jaguars and Tornados heading overhead years ago. the were heading south I was guessing it was from Goose to Red Flag. The people I was with thought I was an idiot, they were just airliners....

Well, actually, seen passing my mother in law's house on Wednesday, a low loader with  a decrepit Fairey Gannet on board.  It was on its way to the Solway aviation museum to be restored.  More data when/if I find it.

Fairey Gannet XA459. Was stored at White Waltham in 2009. There is very little info out there right now regarding this move but it can only be good if it's going to a museum.

Her sister XA460 is at Ulster Aviation Museum in much better condition.

Apart from the inevitable Credenhill (SAS) based AS365 Dauphin, today's overflights have been a Hercules heading NE, at a VERY low altitude.....the guys on the scaffolding on a nearby building all ducked!!   and a small yellow Eurocopter  with the word ELECTRICITY on the side flying along the pylon line, no doubt looking for snags.

What time was that Herk o'head you Mr. Rheged?

There was one creeping along the Severn this afternoon at considerably lower than the legal 250 ft, and I assumed it was looking at water levels etc, but maybe not.

A black Griffon flew over my hotel today. It looked like one of the civil registered ones, or a special ops bird. No call sign on ADSB or flight aware so probably the latter.

That's what THEY want you to think.  Scratch the yellow and there will be black underneath...

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

When I was leaving Edmonton to drive up to Bonneyville, I was sitting in stopped traffic waiting to get onto hwy. 2 and the retro painted RCAF Polaris flew in. No good pics tho.

Our locally based AW 189 of the Coastguard SAR flight was up early to-day.
It seemed that he was doing some training, possibly just continuation training. As to-day was the first time in weeks that we have not been battered by gale force winds it seems a reasonable guess.
He started by doing a run along the beach (about 300-400 yds from the house), followed by a second run following the railway line. The first photo is from that run.
These were done at about 300ft and were at the fastest, walking pace, with lots of breaks for hovering.
The third, and final, run he was coming straight at the house so about 100yds away he went into the hover and stayed there for over 10minutes, that's when I got the second and third shots.

I reckon they were looking down at you Jim.

Are you SURE it was the Coastguard and not some other 'Government Agency' in disguise?  ;D

My thoughts exactly - Big Brother is watching Jim
