Edit: I did a rego search and I have been naming it wrong, it's made by McDonnell Douglas Helicopter Company not Hughes, and aparently it is a 369D. Looks like a 500E to me .

Basically the same chopper, just a redesignation when Mcd took over Hughes....

Your welcome Kit. I've got some more close ups of the Sioux if you want to see them?

I guess it's the Italeri kit you've got? Nice little kit, the tail boom is a little fragile, unfortunately my box took a slight knock and will take some effort to repair it.

I may take you up on that, thanks so much.

I've got two Bell 47 kits, one the Italeri that you mentioned and a Pavla one too (I think) which comes in a massive box that's at  least four times bigger larger than the model! The Pavla one has a PE tail boom so that may be a tad stronger.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Model 369 was the Hughes model number for the OH-6, the civil derivative
was developed as the Model 369A but was marketed as the Model 500.

For those who are interested in the Bell 47 in its multiple permutations

Great looking chopper pics. Now that would have been a nice selection to see. Still mad at myself for not hitting the Yeovilton show when I was there. I guess I should have 'broken away from the group' and then met up with them later....oh well, next time !

Here's the pics from Freedom Hill. A sunless day and I only had my phone.

Going back a couple of pages regarding my posts of the A-4s at Prestwick.
Airforces Monthl, January issue, has a nice two page spread about them transiting through Prestwick, with good photos, inc. the two Discovery Air ones (which I heard about but did not see  :banghead:) Plus some good information about them.
Discovery Air has taken over the contract with the Lufwaffe to provide air-air gunnery training.

I am full of virus at the moment, so I may have been mistaken, but I'm sure I saw a Hercules turning just south of Derby at about 07:45 on Wednesday morning (though it might have been Tuesday?).
Some of my models can be found on my Flickr album >>>HERE<<<

Can we have a link called "Heard Over Your House Today"? It's been overcast for a few weeks with small burst of sunshine but I keep hearing aircraft up there.

EVERYONE!  :o

The entire population of Europe seems to be decamping to the USA for Christmas!

While driving to Oxford along the A40 at around 1030 hrs. today I saw this amazing display of contrails. I can count around 14 on the pic, but there were quite a few more out of shot to the south.

Few years ago I spent Xmas and New Year in Orlando (yes Disneyworld) and was amazed how relatively quiet the hotels were on Xmas day it'self. Made it a really nice, comfortable day. The day after (Boxing day for the Brits) the whole world and his mother in law arrived, it was unbelievable
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Captain Canada

It's always cool when the contrails hang like that. Really gives you an idea of the enormity of air travel. Saw somat similar in the USA a few weeks back.

You're a madman. We got out before it got too busy there. I'm back home in Jacksonville, now.
