At 10.00 am BST, 16 (yes, sixteen) vapour trails of commercial , presumably transatlantic,  traffic were observed.  9 aircraft actually in sight, but no binoculars to hand so all I can say is that at least  7 of 9  were twin engined.

A short while ago an Allouette II batted its way over my house at a VERY low altitude heading toward the Old Severn Bridge. I heard it coming in enough time to open the front door to identify it but not in enough time to get the lens cap off the camera.  :banghead:

I didn't know there were any flying Allouette IIs in the UK, but I know the Army used to have them a while back.

Hmmm, I wonder if there's a helicopter event going on somewhere in the south today?

Not over my house, but literally over my head - About 40 ft to be exacy. The surrey air ambulance BO105 taking off from it's pad at Frimley Park this afternoon. Hell, I was even caught in the down draft for several seconds....

Someone flying under a bridge?  ;D

I once saw a B-52 from above, when I was standing on a ridge and it flew down the valley.  ;D

I wondered if Pyro-Manic was watching the flying on the Mach Loop in Wales but I'm not sure if they fly helicopters there.

I would like to share a unique sighting I had back in the late 70's. Back then the Douglas plant was still in operation in Tulsa,Oklahoma. Something was having its grand opening, but I can't remember if it was there or it was the opening of the Aero-Space Museum, but the Goodyear Blimp was in town for it. The Blimp came a couple of weeks early to get some upgrades done at the MacDonald / Douglas play at the airport. My girl friend lived in the apartment complex next door to the one I lived in and afterwork I was going over to visit her one night. I began to hear a low thrumming noisy from above and couldn't tell what it was. As I was looking it stopped and slowly from the low clouds ,lit by the street lights something large and now silent began to appear overhead. There drifting overhead at only about 300-500 feet was the grey form of the Goodyear Blimp ... !!!   It was both a strange and wonderous site, although somewhat frightening at the same time. After a half hour or so they turned on the engines and headed the 3-4 miles back to the airport .  I have to say this was one of the most unique things I've ever seen and experienced.  I was just wondering if anyone else has ever experienced seeing an airship floating silently at night at a low altitude ?
