Our usual traffic in Columbus, Ohio is commuter jets and helos (police and medical,) so when I heard a radial rumble I was craning my neck to find it.  Just a B-29.  Assuming it is Doc on its way to an event in Delaware.  Perhaps making a fuel stop here at CMH.

Wow, not something you see every day!  :thumbsup:

Yep, it caught my attention with the sound and then- wow.

Old Wombat

Piaggio P.180 Avanti, they have a very unique sound.

reddfoxx

Yeah, the Avanti does too.  Head-turning.

Old Wombat: I knew it was something interesting, WW2 almost certainly, but was surprised it was a 29.  Not doing anything in this area.  Could have been making a fuel stop, although it wasn't really low enough I don't think.  Just transiting?  Had an event in Delaware later that day (the state, not the town near me.)

Seen over my place the last couple of days:

Yesterday;

Leaving, possibly heading to a fire to the N or NE -

Today;

Coming in the re-load with water at the Totness dam -

Leaving, possibly heading to a different fire to the N or NE, or circling around onto a less direct path to her base at Adelaide Airport -

Don't know where the fire was yesterday, but I think it was dealing with a grass fire today at Aldgate (to my WNW, toward Adelaide).

On a couple of, if not the coldest days so far this year.  :rolleyes:

It seems like there's no such thing as "fire season" any more.  Just a year-round burn hazard

Which is Not Best Practice, as evidenced in 'Always'...  :o

While taking part in the Model Boat Mayhem Show at Wicksteed Park nr Kettering today, the world's only flying Tempest II, MW763, flew over us about 1000 ft.

But I think I was the only person there who took any notice!

It looked like it was en route from it's Sywell base to Duxford, it was certainly on course for there anyway.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
