The Islanders were so clandestine that they parked one of them outside a hanger at an RAF Odiham Families Day!  :o

It had a notice in the windscreen that said 'Photographs of this aircraft are NOT permitted'.

Needless to say it was THE most photographed aircraft of the entire day!  ;D ;)

There's been photos of the Islanders in the Air-Britain quarterlies before too.

Obviously both aircraft types are a ruse to either;

a) hide the fact that there are no clandestine operations, or;

b) attract attention away from the much less obvious real clandestine operations aircraft.

Or it's a double bluff and they are the clandestine aircraft and by parking them in the open with that sign the powers that be will work on the basis that everyone assumes they are not the clandestine types ?  :angel:

Mind you it could just be a ploy to annoy the Army and Royal Navy ?  :wacko:
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Rheged

During a recent excursion to Southampton to visit No.1 son and his wife. Thursday, on the way there, three Herculeses in the Swindon area .  Friday, as we enjoyed the roses at Mottisfont Priory (National Trust) a total of 6 Apaches very fast and low.....or possibly the same two going round in circles.

Captain Canada

Lots of action at the Greeley Airport today. We were working about 2 miles from it. Air Tractors, these two, a USAF T-41.

My mother (a very sharp 93 year old in Carlisle)  reports that today is the first day this month that she has NOT seen the local air ambulance over her house .....as of 7:35 pm.

An idyllic sight on a summer evening, an RAF camo'd Tiger Moth trundling across the sky.  ;D

What with ITV4 showing a 'Foyle's War' repeat series at the same time it was very nostalgic.

(Yeah, OK, I wasn't QUITE born then, but I wasn't far off.....)

We had two Red Tail Hawks soaring and swooping over our house today, wonderful sight.

Not over my house but on the highway when I was coming home from Red Deer this morning. A Buffalo Airways DC-3 on a low-boy with a mass of escorting vehicles. That was because it was all of the fuselage and the center wing section, up to just outside of the engine nacelles. I had to drive past almost in the ditch beside the road. You may wonder why it was there at all, well about 10 miles north of where I came across it, is Red Deer Regional Airport (formally, CFB Penhold) and Buffalo Airways has a maintenance hanger there ----

I went to RIAT '19 today and pretty good it was too, although my prediction of 10 yrs ago is coming true....

Almost half the show consisted of F-16s and Typhoons!  :o

I took 106 pics, but one of then stands out amongst all the others.

Awesomely accurate and perfect flying on behalf of the Reds and the BA Captain. Lump in the throat time.  :thumbsup:

It looked like Red #9 was waiting for the 747 to trail a hose!  ;D

While sitting in my friends yard drinking at lunchtime today many light aircraft kept flying over (or it may have been the same one circling over us).
My comment "it's like the Battle of Britain sitting here" was met with nothing but ridicule from my three female lunch companions.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

;D ;D

One of my favorite sounds in spring and summer around here are the cropdusters flying around. Sounds like a bunch of dive bombing going on and high speed turns.
