Iraq 1947

Scenario:

1947 the British pull out of Iraq, leaving (I know it's unbelieveable, but follow me, it's a Whiff) a popularly elected government that fluorishes.  Human rights, minority rights, happy people, prosperous economy that leads the middle east for decades.  No military coups, no bad old Mr. Saddam, no Gulf War I.  As the 1950s and '60s progress, more and more closely aligned with their friendly neighbors in Iran and with the US.

I envision:

F-51Ds delivered in 1955
F-84Gs delivered in 1956
F/RF-84Fs delivered in 1959

etc, etc, etc...

F-4Ds and F-4Es to compliment the Iranian ones in the late 1960s and 1970s (including RF-4Es of course).

F-16s and F-15s in the 1980s and '90s...

And you could go on and on.  Iraqi Navy P-3Bs (think of the funky camo colors!), C-130s, etc, etc.

Discuss...

Radish

Same as the current insignia, it's traditional, but a different fin flash.
The original Royal one had a fin flash using the vertical stripes idea.

Love it.
I can build Iraqi F-4Ds, RF-4Es and F-4Es now to annoy some of the bad guys in the F-4 SIG.
And for future development...

F-16s and F-15s?

Does iraq become the main ally rather than Saudi Arabia or both?

If Britain were to pull out on relatively good terms (assumed to be the case given a stable democracy remains), then why not more British aircraft - say Iraqi Swifts, Lightnings, Harriers, Jaguars and Tornados (IDS & ADV) (Yes I know the last two aren't purely British, but still...).  Colour Schemes could be similar to that used on their Vampires:
