The Rat

Went to the Wings and Wheels festival at the Toronto Aerospace Museum today, and saw something that will cause a certain mouse to howl. One of the manufacturer's models hanging from the ceiling chucks its well formed T-tail in favour of a double:

Another little beauty was an early 6-engined Arrow concept, what a beast this would have been!

More pics to follow once they're resized and dropped in the Photobucket!

Ya know sumpin'? When I saw it I thought that it was just missing props, but what if it was a projected jet version with blown flaps? I'll try to get a closer look and ask around.

I'll soon be posting a load of pics of the vintage motorcycles they had there. Well, if you're interested that is...

I have to admit, the exchange of tails on the CariBuffJet-whatever is intriguing.

Yes...more pics !

Was there enough Beaver there for your liking ? Or did you have to haul off to Arizona's to see more ?

;)

I was hoping to make it down for the event, but plum forgot all about it. That and my wife was on call, and the daughter had Girl Guides camp, and......

The Arrow model looks kinda like that proposal for the ramjet super altitude version of the Arrow. I'll do a poke about and see if I can find the pic.

It was the Anti ICBM concept. There is an art work at the bottom of the page.

If you make it next year (Otter festival I'm guessing, if they go in sequence), then make it for the Saturday show, a lot of stuff leaves Saturday night so Sundays aren't as good. In fact I think I'll suggest that to them, make it a one day affair.

Oh, there was one thing that wasn't a possibility yesterday, a shot of this flight line:

Rather the Anti-ICBM weapon would've been one store carried by this advanced version of the Arrow (A-ICBM effort was apparently a separate project, intended for launch at high altitude, high speed conditions from the Advanced Arrow.  ISTR that the AICBM missile itself was derived from the upper stage of the Nike-Zeus.
