Well, since I threatened with post-blitzing this place, and was reminded that I volunteered to take it easy with that, I offer this thread as a preview of things to come.

I wasn't kidding when I said sixty and counting.  Finished, there's sixty models.  There's another fourteen in progress, and that doesn't count the ships, Phoenix build models, or the big honkin' Enterprise Class heavy cruiser from Star Trek (the Polar Lights Refit).

The pictures below have about 70 of the (aircraft) models I've built since last summer.  Not pictured are the ones I've got at the auxiliary build space (the Swingin' F-15, my MCAS Grosse Ile AV-8B+ and CH-60H, that frakking $1 Su-7 kit that was missing more parts than it had, the ships).

First up is an overall pic of the stash and all the builds.  I haven't had a chance to buy a new storage container yet, so they planes are enjoying their impromptu display space.

First up for the close ups is the pic with the latest additions to the stash, and a few finished models (Ceylonese Su-30, RAN Sea Vixen, Federal Republic of Central America (FRoCA) OV-1D, FRoCA Navy F-4S, RAAF B-47R, PLAAF Mirage F1, USAF MI ANG 107th FS F-18L).

Next up is the precariously perched pack (Republic of Cuba F-4N, Brazillian P-47H, Brazillian Navy Fireball, PLAAF Mig-29).

Here we have a rather close bunch (FRoCA F-105B, Vietnamese F-8II, Republic of GLORIOUS Henristan Su-15, Rally's St. Amant F-84H, Ceylonese Mig-21, Chilean F-16H (F-16XL)).

Here's an interesting bunch (Honduran Tunnan, USN Aggressor Draken, PLAAF Su-11, Spanish Armada FJ-4, PLAAF Mig-37).

Next pic is the adventurous bunch.  I ran out of room on top of the boxes, so these models volunteered to take their own lives in their hands, er, hardpoints (USN Aggressor X-29, Brazillian Navy Tigercat, USN AV-8J Sea Harrier).

Next up are the requisite F-15's you know I build (Brazillian F-15B, Taiwanese F-15T (square wing), Spanish F-15C, RAAF F-15C, Italian F-15A, RAF SEAC F-15B, RAF F-15K, also, Bahamas Tradewinds, Zaamundan Spitfire, Maltese Spitfire, FRoCA P-51D, GLORIOUS Soviet Navy L-39K, VFA-209 F/A-18A+ "Air Baron 08")

Here's an overview pic of the actual bench

With a closeup of the "finished" part of the bench (Spanish Armada XF15C Stingray, South Korean Navy Sky Pirate, South Korean AF F-101B, Republic of Quebec Viggen Wild Weasel, Republic of Cuba F2H-4 Banshee, FRoCA Navy A-7E, RCN F-15M, FRoCA F-4C, Latvian Hawk 200, FRoCA AM-1 Mauler, RAN Wyvern)

Here's the "in progress" part of the bench (USAF RF-15D, Imperial Iranian Navy S2F, Iceland AH-1G, Portuguese F-4S, Taiwanese EC-121D, Patagonia He-162, USAF FB-119 Nemesis (scale-o-ramaed 1/48 Monogram F-19), some South American or Pacific Rim XF8B-1).

Adds a whole new meaning to the term "batch-file posting"!!!

You need a whole sub-forum dedicated to your incredible prolificity (new word)!   ;)

Dang, couldn't put all the pics in one post

Final part of the bench contains some almost done models (Republic of French Louisiana Rafale B, South African Javelin, FRoCA Matchbox A-10A (which is more of a YA-10A representation with the Vulcan in place of the Avenger)).

Almost forgot to show where the rest of the unbuilts and the Phoenix builds are (the box on top has 11 assembled, yet to be painted planes, while the grey island in the pic belongs to the German CVV Deustchland).

And that's it for the bench/stash, but there's some interesting ancient things down in the basement:

First up from this box is the unfinished USS Bunker Hill NCC-1745, an Enterprise class heavy cruiser.  It's one of those big honkin' Polar Lights 1/350 scale movie Enterprise models.  I haven't had a chance to make decals for it yet, though there's always the possibility that I'll not do the decals and pay for a custom set, should one particular decal maker get off his butt and offer custom 1/350 decals.

Next up is my older 1/537 AMT Movie Enterprise, the USS Kitty Hawk NCC-1754.  It's one of those light and sound Enterprise kits, minus the sounds, which bugged the crap out of me (TOS sound effects on a movie era starship?  Not in my Starfleet!).

The lights still work!

Here's my Starcrafts 1/1400 Movie Enterprise, the USS Discovery NCC-1798.  Nice model, more accurate than the AMT one, except for the lower sensor dome on the primary hull.

Size comparison of the USS Kitty Hawk (1/537) and USS Discovery (1/1400)

I thought I had a pic of the Kitty Hawk, Discovery, and Bunker Hill together, but I guess it got lost in the upload.

Heh, ain't done yet, Baz.

Actually, I wanted to put this this last model in a post all its own.  This is my oldest surviving, really well done model.  It was actually done by my dad about 27-28 years ago.

It's missing an engine pair, the bomb-bay is missing its bombs, and I made it drop most of its pylon bombs over the years.  It looks like one of the drop tanks disappeared in the move, and the split down the upper fuselage (which I've repaired twice over the last couple decades) is worse than ever, the outriggers have long since disappeared, along with most of the flaps, gear doors, bombbay doors and wing fences, but this model still looks good to me.

I think I got my "Brush painting only" mentality from my dad (and my grandpa... there's some large 1/32 F-4J's around here that he built).  Look at these lines

This is the last model I had hanging from my ceiling.  Other than a brief period in my teens and since the house was put up for sale a year ago, this thing has been flying alert over me since it was built.

One last pic, if only to illustrate just how big the 1//350 Movie Enterprise kit really is.  All those planes are 1/72 (for reference):

The preview is now over.  Coming Spring, 2007:  THE WHIF MODEL GLUT!!!!

Holy cow, Anthony! That's an absolutely astounding amount of modelling! I think it's time we gave the folks at Guiness World Records a call.

Any chance you might one day build a battle damaged U.S.S. Constellation?

Nope, as she was destroyed prior to the Enterprise class' inception.  I might do an Enterprise class USS Constellation II NCC-1706, though I need to get through my backlog of Enterprise class ships first (which requires me to get off of whiffing and start buying Starship kits again).  The Movie Enterprise has always been my favorite sci-fi design.

I gotta get around to completing the Bunker Hill, as she's been under construction for over a year now.

Well, the FB-119 has a 1/72 F-111's cockpit in place of the 1/48 one that it came with.  I then trimmed and cut an A-6's rear canopy to fit over the back part of the cockpit, applied copious amounts of putty, sanded, repeat, and finally began to paint.  You can't really see from the pic, but I figure it'd be an FB-111 replacement.  It's also got a new tandem nose-wheel, with tow-bar for catapult launches (when I was going to make it a carrier based A-11).  I may still rip that off.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

A-WE-SOME!!!

I like the way modern and old aircrafts sits side by side. Same thing for real-world and fictious roundels and countries.

The FB-119 looks so good!!! That's fascinating. Another clever use of the famous Italeri F-19 (I opened a thread on the subject. Feel free to add your FB-119 to the list  ;)  )

King Arthur: Can we come up and have a look?
French Soldier: Of course not. You're English types.
King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.

anthonyp

Actually, I've still got a couple F-19's still in the stash (both Testors, 1 1/72 and 1 1/48 (which will get the scale-o-rama treatment))

I don't think I'm buying anymore kits for a good long while, I've got to get through my stash.  Looking through it I was reminded of a lot of older projects that I'd forgotten about.
