What if the Wyvern was a still born poject?  would the Royal Navy have got Spads instead, to work along side the AEW birds we Did have IRL.

This is the trusty old Airfix kit, with bits nicked from all over the place. the rockets came off a Novo Sea Venom, the bombs are off a Czechmaster Wyvern, the drop tank is off a Matchbox Hunter and the decals came off a model art Wyvern sheet. the spinner was Geoff B's idea and he donated it. I think its off an Airfix Mossi.
I always hope for the best.

Nifty Spad Martin,

I always liked the look of the Brit ordnance.  Has that real 'post war but only just' look to it.

Congrats

Neat concept there !  Agreed, the nose on that beast is very well done.

The Propeller Spinner is a nice touch, definitely sets it apart from a standard AD-1/A-1.

It's amazing how just adding a spinner totally changes the look of the plane. Without it, it'd be a Skyraider in FAA colors, but add the spinner, it forces you to do a double take and process it a bit longer before it hits you that it IS a Skyraider.

All that really maters to me is it's        A Skyraider

Yes, exactly.  I was just looking for the Wyvern in there and finally realized, "Oh, it really IS a SPAD, mostly."

Another one of those "Wish I had thought of it" concepts.

Nice looking build Martin.  It's amazing how much difference the spinner makes.
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

You know, I was thinking that myself!

Oh Great Lodestar Higgs, that is one fantabulous Spad! It looks sooo right in Fleet Air Arm markings! The spinner is a wonderful touch...makes it look like a real hot-rod! Not to mention how sexy the FAA colors are, especially with those I.D. bands to set them off!

Excelent idea.
This makes me remember that I have to continue with my Airfix 1/72 Skyraider. But I think I will change the whiff direction
