NARSES2

This is the first kit I've managed to finish since Telford. Always seem to get in a bit of a rut between then and end Jan - no idea why.

In 1944 the RNZAF P-40's were replaced with the new Curtis P-60 Thunderhawk. Althugh delivered in standard USAAF OD/NG they were repainted at the MU's in the then current RNZAF scheme of Foliage Green over Med Grey together with the SWP theatre markings of two white bands and a white tail. By this time the NZ roundels had switched from dark to light blue as they were clearer to see from the ground at the very low altitude most of these aircraft operated at.

This particular aircraft is picture when serving in the Sollomon Islands and is one of the very few NZ aircraft to carry personal markings. Apart from the "Fighting Donald Duck" it carries a number of mission markings denoting both ground and naval actions.

Kit is Anigrand - very good, and the markings are from the "Sky Decals" F4-U Corsair sheet, excellent value

Excellent model, Chris!!
Great execution. This model looks very high-quality, as do the paintjob and decaling.

It would pass any examination with flying (no pun intended) colors!!

Felicitaciones!!!
