This morning while discussing possible projects the option of converting our beloved cat into a plane arose along with the thought of offering it as a group build...

__^.^__ "meo-vroom!"

The idea is to take your pets characteristics and transfer them to an aircraft that would best suit your pet, ofcourse you will have to explain why you chose that particular plane and pics of your pets should be included for comparison and cuteness sakes.

Comments, questions, ideas anyone?

Cheers

My cat Reglisse (Liquorice) would be... a Tiger Moth.
Never angry, forgiving, easy to handle, adorable,  very economic (she eat very few), purring like a Gipsy engine at cruising speed...
On the other hand, she tend to makes smelly farts by its exhaust... but only for my sister.  ^_^

My former cat Pistache (now defunct :( ) would have been... a F-100 Super Sabre.
Voracious, unforgiving, always angered, dangerous (for your ankles), noisy and growling. And its furr looked like a camo, with brown and black stains everywhere.

Others cats would have been... Avengers of Flight 19 in the Bermuda triangle : they disapeared and were never see again...  <_<

Meooooww!!!!

Brilliant idea!

French Soldier: Of course not. You're English types.
King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.

Our dog Blossom would be an SR-71.

"Why?" I hear you all asking.  "Is she sleek and fast?", "Is she black?".  No.  It's because she leaves little pubbles everywhere.
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

You beat me to it, I was thinking the same about our hell-spawned animated doormat.  :P

The closest thing I have to a pet is my girlfriend.

At least she looks cute in a collar. ;)

The only thing that would come to mind is something the size of a B-52 with the speed and agility of an F-16, mixed with a KC-10 filled with Jolt Cola...  That's how to describe Shepard.  The boy's crazy happy all the time, fast, really agile, and big.

A few years ago, I had promised Ms. Hitler that I would build an aircraft model of a suitable type to catch the personalities of each of our four cats and paint them in a tiger-striped scheme to match each.

Browner: P-47 Jug in brown tabby markings (he's a giant cat!)

Orangie (can you tell my wife named her first two on her own?): FW-190 in orange tabby stripes (he's way too lithe, hyper, insane, etc.)

Munchie (as a kitten, he sucked on people's necks):  Cessna 150 with brown tabby markings (he's a tiny and very timid/unarmed cat)

Hamas (yes, we have a cat named "Hamas" and you should see the local Middle Eastern immigrants pop up when my wife goes outside calling his name):  P-40 in all-black finish  (he's a sleek little thing but completely devoid of any inner workings, if you know what I mean).

So, yeah, if this becomes a group build, I guess I'd have to be "in."   ;)

BUT I distinctly remember you telling Lana and myself young Tracey has cats. So...........make one (or all) of her cats!

Great ideas here guys! We're both really keen to get as many folk involved in this as possible. I know that with the Phoenix, Secret Santa and Alternate Landing Gear GBs all coming up we may be a tad hard-pressed to find time to do this. But I still wanna see it happen.

SR-71 -

And some lovely sentiment from Archie, they sound great! The Tiger Moth idea is terrific.

Well lets see, Eric the Dog is tatty looking, dumb as a brick, thinks he's brave but is scared of cats, stubborn, easily confused (one of my favourite games), eats anything, but despite all the "wrong" things there's something incredibly endearing about him. Suggestions anyone?

Fairy Gannet maybe?

I invite all and any criticism, except about Eric The Dog, it's not his fault he's stupid

Oh boy, we've got a guy here who will just... Oh, it IS you, never mind.

Does he smell like Twiglets?

Hmm, going to be interesting trying to fit our five cats:

In order of arrival:
Diana - silver tortie, somewhat on the shy and easily spooked side
Honor - brown tabby, mackerel pattern, a part maine coon, she's quite the hunter and has an intelligent inquisitiveness that makes her quite the explorer
November - russian blue with a touch of gray tabby, the most even-tempered of the lot, but with a strange fascination for water, among other things; she was feral when we took her in, but had obviously lived with people before
Tia (short for Hypatia) - brown tabby - a feral we took in and gave a home to, she's quite the huntress herself, she does tend to get into more than a few altercations with Honor
Harlie - black and white with a black patch over one eye and white over the other - hence her name, short for Harliequin, which mask she resembles - she's also a feral we gave a home to and while she's more placid than Tia, she's still quite mischievous and her purr sounds like a big-block V-8 idling over

I'm open to suggestions as to what aircraft each would be - I'm kinda thinking a F-14, despite the inappropriate name, for Honor and a F-16 for Tia.

Interesting idea - but how am I to represent these two in plastic?
