I always like to think that the Israeli's replaced their war weary Beaufighters and Mosquito's with new Skyraiders and Tigercats :P

Isreal did try for Mirage IV, initially some for just the recon role and then later in the Strike role with AS-30 and conventional bombs to replace Vautor. However the French Air Force only operated them in the Recon and Nuclear strike role so Isreal wouldn't order them unless the french did their own stike version first.
Would have been a handy if the Isrealis wanted to use one for their Nuclear strike role !.

Yep that's right! Proposals also included Mirage F2 and Tsiklon (heavy upgrade of the Vautour). But after the 6-day war, they ended with Phantoms (sometimes I have the same feeling as Wooksta toward the Phantom... <_< )
King Arthur: Can we come up and have a look?
French Soldier: Of course not. You're English types.
King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.

Be honest, everyone has a soft spot for the Phantom, even Wooksta ;)

considering that sweden is were the Isreali mustangs came from, the SAAB B17 is a good call. if only for 2nd line duties.
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

How about the F-111? Was skimming through the Osprey 'Israeli F-15s in combat' (may not be the correct title) this afternoon, and from that, it appears that when the IAF F-15I purchase was going through, the Israelis were a little concerned about how expensive the aircraft is. Lockheed, appreciating this, offered to provide more F-16s and refurbished F-111Fs.

Israeli F-111's!

Now this is one air force that would use this excellent strike aircrafts potential

Just imagine the range and warload this would give the IDF!

I can just see it know –

A strike package of four Israeli Air Force F-111F's, escorted by twelve F-15 Eagles, smashed the Iranian nuclear reactor, while another strike package of four F-111F's destroyed the Iranian uranium enrichment plant, that was used to develop the Iran's first nuclear bomb, that was detonated as a show of force on ?/12/200?.
An Israeli spokesmen said they had no choice to put an end to Iran's nuclear program, when the leader of Iran, made the public announcement, at the time of the test, -'we shell drive the Israelis from this continent once and for all with this weapon'!

It has just been announced by the Israelis, that at the time of these strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities, eight Iranian fighters were shot down, when they attempted to intercept the Israeli strike force, to no loss of Israeli aircraft.

At the same time as the nuclear facilities attack, eight further F-111F's, again escorted by F-15 Eagles attacked and destroyed, Iran's small fleet of Soviet built and supplied Su-24 'Fencer' strike aircraft (the Soviets equivalent to the F-111 itself), and the airbase that they used.
The Israeli spokesman stated, this was an insurance measure, just in case the Iranian's thought they might carry out a similar reprisal attack (although an un named source has stated, that it was done, just in case the Iranian's did have a nuclear weapon, that Mossad had not picked up on – as the intelligence report (presumably by Mossad!) states that Iran's prim means of delivering its nuclear weapon was not by missile, but by their 'Fencers'!

Thanks for your backing !

MAD, that's a good backstory! You have to turn these F-111s into plastic  now

I've often wondered how an F-105 would look in IDF markings.
