Ok I know its been awhile but I am back on the P-262C kit bash. I am so close to finishing it that I am now on a mission to finish it. I will go back with pics as to give you a little recap.

The kits

The first steps

Then main construction

And my recent progress. I sprayed on the base top coat. MM ANA Deep earth after I spayed the light grey bottom coat.

And there you have it. Almost done. While waiting for paint to dry I painted the canopy sections. I have the another color to apply for the camo. Then a coat of Future for applying the decals, then a coat of clear flat. Then the usuall little bits ( landing gear and covers, guns, ect.) So any question, or critiques are weclome.

Thanks for looking

I really dig this one Zip! I can't wait to see the second camo color and the decals. Thanks for the update on this wonderful kitbash. B)

haha, that looks so cool!

You're keeping the intake under the nose though? (I assume this is for the supercharger or somesuch)

Well the Bucs are on so that means there is nothing to watch in Tampa! So I sprayed the final color on the P-262C camo. Take a look........

Gosh I'm having a hell of a time trying to get decent pics with this camera[:(!]

Now I'll let it set overnight and tomorrow I will spray on the Future.

Thanks

Ya know when your football team sucks as bad as mine you have a lot more time on Sunday for modeling. I couldn't wait til tomorrow to spray the Future so I didn't, I made it all shiny and ready for decals. This is the stage of the build I think the model looks the worst. Even  my wife notice. Is that the way it's suppose to look?  Wow I did't take this many pics on our vacation! :P

Thank you,

Use it for gun bay purging air and an inlet for the cabin pressurizing system.

Can I ask you a serious question, knitter to modeller?

Did you know it would end up looking this fantastic back when you first started?

As they used to say back in the Fifties:  "Gosh!!"

Oh, that's way too cool. Those wings look SOOOOO natural on there!

That's really a cool model! The P-40 fuselage fit very nicely to the 262 wings...hey, that's a plane for Captain-Sky.
The usual question :what about the remains? I remember that the first Me-262 had a piston engine to prevent crashing in case of engine failure (this hapened various time)
Remind me a model I have made... a MiG-15 / Zero kitbash. I have found that the wings of the MiG-15 fit perfectly to the wing roots of the Zero :o
King Arthur: Can we come up and have a look?
French Soldier: Of course not. You're English types.
King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.

rally modeller...Thanks I'm glad you like it

Archibald...I won't be building a ME-40 if thats what you mean. I used the wings for the P-40 as an experiment. They are now rendered useless. And as for the wings fitting nicely into the P-40 body..no where close...Lots of filler (styrene and putty).

John Howling Mouse...Yes I did. A friend of mine was goofing around and while in the middle of both builds laid both models on a table and switched the bodies before finishing the biulds and thats what gave me the idea. I thought it would look great!

Thanks all

Awwww Crap!  You know I totally blanked on this build. I was surfin' Ebay last night and saw an auction for an aircobra and an me262 and the boxes showed a nice profile shot of ea. and I thought that it would make a cool What-If so I bid on and won the auction.

No wonder I thought it would be cool, subconsiously I must have been remembering this butt kickin' p-40/262 combo!

Well I sure didn't mean to copycat but heck now I gotta, hope I get as nice of results :)
