I thought that love would last forever; I was wrong.

The stars are not wanted now; put out every one:
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun;
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the woods:
For nothing now can ever come to any good.

Absolutely brilliant......who can't like that!!!!  :P    :P

Just the sort of thing to get me back to aircraft....in a bit though.

Nice model, but what an ugly concept.

Nicely done model to a plausible concept; only someone rather familiar with the F-16 would spot the problem areas.  It would make more sense to go with the FLIR/designator installation of the F-16E/F and the canards of the YF-16CCV and AFTI-16.  Then again, I lived with F-16 design engineering for a year and a half and know it well.

QuoteI won't be a JMN and point out the faults though.
Huh, its a whiff, and JMNs are not allowed here  :P  (or was it JMNs wont come here?)

I thought this was a JMN free zone? Guess I was wrong...

Nah, I'm not that bad, I've just been professionally immersed in that airframe for a fair while.  Since I'm in the business, esp. since I'm currently with LM-Aero, Fort Worth, I tend to prefer a bit more plausibility on aircraft - and, yes, I look at my concepts in the same light.

I even posted pics of Scooterman's version in the ARC thread.
Man, we should have cloned twenties. Jackson wouldn't have given a poo-poo.

Folks,

This is an excellent build.  High skills there.  Excellent attention to detail and a very well rendered model.

About the only quibble I've come up with is the "stats" he's added for his bird.  He cites a Mach 2 performance for the thing.  I didn't think the Vipers could go that fast even from just an airframe design perspective.  He does list the thing is powered by the same engine as is now stuffed into a Raptor.  Okay, more horses to let the bird gallop.  But the main hang up there would be the simple geometry fixed inlet of the F-16.  That right there should limit the aircraft to less than Mach 2 all on its own.

Those minor quibbles aside, it's a beautiful build and worthy of both praise and pride.

Ok my turn to knit pick, I would have changed the engine intake to make it stealthy - maybe hexagonally shaped. And considering that this plane is supposed to be the future I would have gone with the four bomb clips of Small Diameter Bombs (SDB) instead of LGBs.

Plus ya have to wonder what the effect of the canards would be on the air flow to the intake, especially combined with hanging those big pods on the side of the intake. Not too sure that would work from a structural standpoint.
