NARSES2

The appearence of a Red Carrier Group in the Eastern Med during the spring of 1944 sent shivers down the collective Western Aliance spine. One of the more immediate consequences of this was a plea by Spain for more modern aircraft. With Spain's "traditional" supplier France being heavily involved in their own re-equipment programme, they asked Germany for assistence. The delivery of 12 FW 190 A-5's marked the first time Germany had exported aircraft since the reconstruction of both the industry and airforce during the late 20's early 30's.

The aircraft were operated by the 1st Escuadrilla of Grupo 27 based on Majorca and replaced Dweotine 520's. They were eventually supplemented by A -8's and various F models were purchased under the AMAP (Aliance Mutual Assistence Programme) for the fighter bomber role

Such an obvious idea, the Nazis supplying Fascist Spain with German kit - even without your AH - you really are very good at this kind of thing Chris (thinks:  all those whiffy tiffies)

Wow that one's as hot as the spanish sun, Chris! It's gotta be the best looking FW to come down the pike in a while! My hat's off to you for coming up with such  imaginative markings and camo!
