Lana's been doing some great paintwork on her Italeri "Rapid Kit" F4U-4, to be done in the colours of FG-1D NZ5648, complete with Donald Duck noseart. Here's a coupla pics of that most rare creature, the female plastic modeller, at its finest:

It's progressing well, although no cement has yet been used. Lana's been very meticulous with her paintwork and, as you can see, is using a bit of reference material to aid her. How cool is that?

We'll keep you posted as she progresses. Wish her the best!

And yes, our workbench IS big enough for the both of us. The day Lana began her modelling career I was finishing the A-4P seen last week.

I feel priviledged to be present at the birth of another fantastic modeling career! Way to go Lana!

Wow, what fantastic taste she has in aircraft as well (we share the same penultimate favorite, Mistress Lana and I).

And I realize you folks likely get your "winter" when we're doing the "summer" thing up here but isn't she positively overheating in that boa-scarf-thing there and a furry hood-thing yet, as well?????

Go Lana Go!!!   ;)

I'm going to show this thread to Ms. Hitler to make her jeallllllllllllous!

Nice!
Just a question: is Lana doing this to please Zac (you must do something similar in the other direction, Zac!), or does she actually find joy in modellism? Love sharing has many ways...
(feel free not to answer if this is personal ;) )
[the word "realistic" hurts my heart...]

BlackOps

Looks like a great start Lana, Zac did tell you your supposed to taste the colors before using them didn't he?  :P

Zac you are indeed lucky, my wife shares my other hobby with me and it is very nice to have someone close to share with

Man Barbies :)   She steals my Mandollies all the time...she almost has as many 1/6 weapons as I do! I won't worry unless she starts collecting 1/1 scale  ;)

Way to go Lana.  Looking forward to your completed build.

My daughter got a couple kits at tonights meeting.  Jolly Green Giant (old Revell kit) and PT Boat (also the old Revell kit).  Not sure what she plans on these but will post the pics here.

Zac you do realise she's better than you :P
Try not. Do. Or do not. There is no try.

Keep at it Lana!

I'm tackling the Italeri one for a friend. Beware - the port and starboard tailplanes are identical, so one of the gets mounted upside down unless you're willing to go to all the work of sanding and filling and rescribing and adding lumps and bits...
