The parsley war (2009) on the Perejil island.

In March 2009, tensions between Marocco and Spain suddendly rose. After the victory of the Partido Popular, new prime minister Rajoy named Trillo as defense minister. The guy quickly started the Perejil war with Maruecco by sending Spanish commandoes on this ridiculous rock (not even an Island!)

Well, he had made a first atempt on Aznar times, but the operation went to nothing.
Spanish Typhoons covered the operation. Sadly Marocco had become the first (and only) Rafale export customer in 2007. Nevertheless, spanish Typhoons outnumbered the Marocco pilots.
But the EdA realised that the Typhoon lacked air-to-ground abilities (The consortium had never managed to finance that despite GB desesperate atempts). Mirage F1 and Hornets were used on the role, but were aeging.
That's why the EdA finnally bought 45 Superbug in 2010. Only use in the air-to-ground role (Ie, bomb trucks) they received a brown-green camo.

I have bought an A6 Intruder and a Superbug only to complete my collection. But I was not very interested by these planes... and they looked bad until I become member of this forum. in two months, I changed the Intruder into a GB nuclear bomber...

A JMN would have say "what this 70's camo on a modern plane"? Yes, but I just hate those grey, low-viz camo of our days.

Great F-18 build.  Hornet WHIF's are one of my favorites......outstanding job (and imagination too!!!!)......I also agree the camo looks good, I'm tired of seeing grey/grey/grey aircraft all the time.

Nice Super Hornet!  I was thinking of doing an F/A-18F up in Spanish markings.  Just one thing, though:  It'd look better in grey

Very nice, Archie ! I love the camo as well. Spanish roundels always make an aeroplane look good.
