QuoteSomebody beat you to it - the Swiss Air Force!!!

But those are big white crosses.

But a nice reminder that the red crosses on F-5's would sure look cool.

Maybe I'll do a "Red Cross" rescue squadron of some kind.  Rescuing the needy: sure, only one person at a time but supersonically!

White crosses, red crosses - bah!

I'm thinking of doing a F-20 in this scheme - be interesting to see how many are fooled.

All hail the God of Frustration!!!

Most aircraft look very good in black crosses, and the Red Cross of Portugal can be easily adapted....just fill in the central white bit with red, or gold for the Papal divisions.

Saracen aircraft might carry green roundels or squares but with ornate, delicate camouflage patterns in abstract form.
Frankish aircraft....heavily weathered in Natural Metal with white patches/identification panels(???) and apart from the crosses, crude nose art...ie "crude" in the sense of "naughty but nice!".

OK, this is these are some cool ideas, who's gonna put some to plastic? My project list seems to keep getting bigger but I really like the Crusades Idea!

Gonna have to see what I have that can be convereted  (No pun intended)

Trumpeter 1/32nd F105 in natural metal finish with BIG Tutonic Knight Rittercross (sp?) markings - heavy enough? :)

Will it be carrying the nuclear stike version of the "Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch?"

No nukes....we want the land, remember.
Just lots of bombs to move the sand and rubble about.

As for building the stuff? Well, it is very tempting I must admit, and I've a couple of Monogram F-105s waiting to be built, and a couple of A-10s.

Might do a Saracen "Camel"?

The F-105....in fact an F-100, F-104, F-105, etc., in Frank markings would look cool.

Hey.....Frankish VULCAN

Or.....dirty, extremely dirty.....Hawker Hunter!! Hey, I like that idea :P

For the early Crusade could both sides use the Fokker Dr.1/F.1 ?

The machine was a fabulous performer, yet has a 'dark' reputation too.

I reckon anything goes....a bit of tweaking if necessary, but it's our universe after all.

Decided at work that my part-built highly modified Crusader that has undergone various incarnations as Bolivian, Pakistani, etc., bomb-truck will now be a Teutonic Knights "Crusader" from the 34th Crusade, 1967.
All black with numerous additions including additional wing pylons.
The wings will be fixed in the straight position....this is a land-based jobbie, and will feature....well, does already feature....quite a few mods.
All very heavil;y weathered in sands, purples, reds, etc..

It'll be in the Competition at Telford.

Recently I've been finding inspiration for various modelling projects in music...
the current Crusader F-8 in Teutonic Knights markings is inspired by "Worth Dying For", by Judas Priest.
Lots of other ideas too.

Teutonic Knights:

F-8s of course
F-4
Fokker D.VII
Lightning (EE of course!)
Marauder

everything very "tweaked" of course!!!

That Spitfire in English markings....the red/white is so "English", it could become a National emblem for the england Football Team abroad.
Where can I get golden lions? I want golden lion decals....transfers to you, Chris.... ....it looks SO RIGHT.

That Spitfire is SO AWE INSPIRING.
I'm happy and if I can make one..... :P    :P    :P

Can someone think of a name suitable for my Teutonic Knight's Crusader.
Can't call it that...a Crusader Crusader.....what else?
