I remember seeing at Telford 2 years ago the masters for Whirlykits Bistol 188 to be made in resin, which never appeared? Anyone know what happened to it? Any other kits that were announced but never appeared (remember the Airfix Chinook from the early eighties that never got out of the catalogue?).
Forgive if this topic has been covered before, its only my 3rd post!
Thanks

Far too many and of course its all the fault of Sandy Duncan's Paper Whites decree that cancelled all developments and forced the plastic kit manufacturers and stockists to convert to the floral and craft supply trades.

I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Err you not going to try and follow the trend are you Colin  :o

(I hope not....)

However the post might help identify some potential future releases i suppose.

Back to topic i did hear at Telford that Trev had found the original Airfix drawings for its 1970's issue of the Nimrod when doing the design for the latest version.
The Airfix one which would have been nice before it folded was for the pre EAP ACA Agile Combat Aircraft announced in 1983 just before they folded :(

I hope not Geoff, but I'll have to cross the 188 off my list....

Don't forget the 1/48 Revell 'Stealth' fighter circa early 80's(again), spirited away by the CIA maybe?

Didn't they have a number of other 1/48 kits that never appeared, like a XP-47H, a XP=72, and some Banshees, among others?

I'm still bitter that Aurora never came out with their promised Aluminaut kit:

My understanding of the Amtech situation is that a couple of years back one of the owners was hit with quite serious medical problems and they are still an issue. The other owner is keeping the company afloat, but projects are on hold.

From what I've heard, they are still out there and have the intent to return to the market as soon as its possible for them.

Azur Vautour... I asked them the other day what date for release, and they answer "no date for release"  <_<
King Arthur: Can we come up and have a look?
French Soldier: Of course not. You're English types.
King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.

A whole slew of Panda kits.  Some have been snapped up by Trumpeter, but still no 1/72 C-17........  :(
