Hannants sell Xtracolor X629 Russian interior blue/green.

I'm afraid I don't know if there is a Humbrol equivalent available, I would imagine not.

No, if you look at the two colours side by side, it's not even close.

Contrary to urban myth, there is no one single color.  I've been aboard an Mi-8 that was so fluorescent, electric jade green that it literally made you wear sunglasses.  And I've sat in a MiG-23MF that had a much more restrained color.  Like a lot of things in the USSR/Russia, there was almost no such thing as a standard.  Paint it whatever color you like and be happy that it's "accurate" :)

Yep, I just made my own paint up.

What an amazing coincidence!! I've just had the same problem with the cockpit colour on the SU22 I'm building. According to the colour references it's 122 which Humbrol no longer do.  I ended up doing a lot of looking around based on the FS codes and ended up with a Lifecolor paint. UA 124/FS35414 known as Japanese geygreen. It looks to be a good match for soviet aircrat for that time period.

Barrys color is quite close to the interior color of the Hnd at the Midland air museum, The museum boys matched it to a Volkswagen color when they redid the interior as the put the thing back togeather.

experience has taught me to expect the worst.

This months SAM has some nice shots of a Czech Mig 21 UM at the Czech air museum, colour looks a touch bluer* than in the pic of the 25 and the article goes along with Xtracolour X629 as being "a good representation of Russian interior blue-green"

* please note I am a firm believer in the princaple that everyone see's colours differently - especially men and women  :dum:
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I remember Jim Wood was once asked what colour the Chromate Green interior on his Voodoo was.
He opened 9 different panels...hey, ho....nine different greens on ONE airframe.

Basically, whatever suits you.

QuoteFrom the Mig 25

Hey, ya sure that's a Mig 25? How come it's got a Mig 21 outline on the centre of the instrument panel? Is that so they know what not to shoot at? :P

Just teasing ya SeaVixen, the colour is kinda puky.

Just a wonder though, The Mig 21 has a radar scope in the right quadrant of the control panel. This sucker has no scope visible. How do pilots in this aircraft use their radar? Do they have to turn around and face backward where their arce is? In the process is it operational procedure to kiss you *ss goodby while you are trying to view the scope, cause if ya gotta be searching about for the dang thing, your butt is gonna be blowed outta the sky?

Just wondering?
