A friend of mine brought back 124 photos he took while at Dayton's US Air Force Museum last week.

Subjects range from Wright Bros' two-seater to B-2 Stealth Bomber and F-22.
Includes NASA items, ordnance, memorials, bipes, Cold War missiles, etc.

If you want to see some, PM me and I'll e-mail the ones you're most interested in.

Question:
Was "Fat Man" really painted this way?

And what is this?

Never realized how cool a B-52 would look in my living room:

Disco Scorpion, anyone?

Styrene in my blood and an impressive void in my cranium.

The 2nd plane looks like a C-7 Caribou.
If you want a vision of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face forever-1984

John:

A neighbor of mine was on Tinian in Aug '45 and in a position to see at least some of the 509th's activites - time and impairment have rendered the details of his recollections suspect (and that's his own words), but I remember him telling me about the "orange A-bomb" he saw - I mentioned that said ordnance might be one of the "Pumpkin" devices - he conceded that might have been the case, but the orange or red bomb had stuck in his memory as the real deal...

I couldn't tell.  The rear exhausts or whatever threw me off.

The lighting wasn't very good.

I was confused by the angle.

LOCUSTS!!!!

Nope, no other shots of it.

I had a flat tire ! I ran out of gas ! I tried to guess what it was......it wasn't my fault !!!!!

:P

Love that movie. Too bad there's no more piccies of her. Nice to see she's indoors, tho. And it sure is a shot worth saving for the details.

Sorta makes sense that the bombs would be painted for high-vis. If something happened you'd want to be able to find the darn things as quickly as possible!
