Good idea, Lancer.
But a bit late for this one, but OK for the next.
I got lazy last night and just refilled the tail section.....rub down in a minute, then I'll finish glueing all the bits on it.
I might take the wings from a 1/48th Sopwith Camel to do the biplane version, using the extra Camel fuselage for a "zwilling" Camel??

The Wellington....or under its new Polish guise,......

The Rulalenska Ru-34A....(based on the famous Rula Lenska who wore a 34A Cup bra)....will be a transport of a German Officer, most likely.

Further versions (I've 2 already in the stash) will be definitely:

V-tail French
V-tail USAAF

QuoteOk, this idea is probably 1) way out there and 2) a bit too late, but how about making a bi-plane version of the Wellington??
blimey lancer, I had exactly that idea yesterday myself...    then I got thinking about how to attach some parasite fighters to some RAF interwar bombers...  ;)

Of course, if Chris buys a Revell 1/48th Fokker D.VII he won't need the wings so I could be given them

So something along the lines of the Fairey Hendon then?

Original form with open cockpit and nose-gun position.

Gonna put trousers on your wimpy?

No trousers.
That Fairey looks great.

What a cracker!!!

Vickers Winchester....it's the Vickers WINCHESTER.

A sort of early, concept aircraft that'll develop to the Wellington.

Vickers WINCHESTER Transport.
Circa 1932.

You could always do a canard Wellington or a flying wing version or even a three engine version :P

Rad if I pick one up at the Northern show you can have them as I'll be using the spare wing from the Eduard DVIII

Chris
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

   FW 42 stylie, now there's an idea. Or how about a push/pull twin motor mounted above the fusalage ?

How about putting it in Portugese markings around the time of the Spanish Civil War?

Lets say that the ME-109 and HE-112 both suffered notable developmental delays and neither were available to the Spanish Nationalist forces when the Soviets started sending Polikarpov Moscas to the Republicans. The Nationalists were losing HE-51s at an alarming rate with no relief in site.

The Republicans and their Moscow backers had the upper hand, Spain was in a Communist strangle hold and had Portugal dead in its sights for Communist expansion.

A decision was made that open ports on the Iberian Penninsula and free access the the Strait of Gibraltar were too important to lose. Portugal was, for the moment, free and must be kept so.

Portugal was immediately supplied with Hurricanes and Wellingtons to discourage Spanish Republican incursions into Portugal. Similar help was given to Morroco shortly after that.

An unsteady peace was kept between the three nations until mid 1939 when the Strait Battle erupted. The battle was a 10 day affair with the only conclusive result being an international demilitarized zone in Southern Spain that was designed to ensure free passage through the Strait of Gibraltar. The northern frontier of this zone was Portugal's southern border. Prime responsibility for the protection of the zone and the north side of the strait was with Portugal while Morroco held the south side.

I figure a sand and mid-stone over blue for the Portugese Wimpy myself.

There's lots of great possibilities available.
The complete engine nacelles are seperate assemblies to fit to the wings, so either a SINGLE-engined version with a big nose-jobbie is a possibility, as is a THREE -engined Trimotor using a spare engine/cowling that I've now got (as I've used open egines/no cowlings, using ex-C-47/DC-3 engines/props.)
A GLIDER version, troop carrier is another possibilty.

Did I say I now have an idea for a really WICKED Royal Bulgarian AF scheme for this current creation?
Still a Vickers Winchester Transport, but used by the RBulgAF.
It'll be there, finished or not, on Sunday.
I'm thinking "Telford Nationals Competition Entry".
