Quote from: Nick on March 22, 2026, 03:15:32 AMI'm very sad to hear this. Jim was a lovely guy and so helpful with model building. He built great models too.

I think I last spoke to him about 4 years ago at Telford or Perth but it may well have been longer than that. Wish I'd gone to see him at home when I was up in Scotland last year.

That would have been Perth. As his health started to fail he only travelled as far as Perth, and only for one day rather than the full two.

Gondor's Modelling Rule Number Three: Everything will fit perfectly untill you apply glue...

I know it's in a book I have around here somewhere....

I will always remember his usual reply when asked how he was ........."ah! Fair to hellish"
I always hope for the best.

I'm very sorry to hear about Jim. He was a lovely man, very friendly and great to chat with at shows with a great sense of humour. He gifted me model once based on a single comment, a very kind man.

Rest well Jim.

Accidental Loggie

Lovely bloke - mad as a fish.  He too will be sadly missed.

Morning gentlemen.

I've copied your replies to Grace and hope they will give her a very small measure of comfort at the very least.

Thanks

Chris

Afternoon gents.

I had this reply from Grace after copying her your comments.

"Dear Chris
Thank you so much for sending these messages on. A bright pause in this sad time.
What a great on-line community you share.
Thanks once again.
Grace"
