Like the Luftwaffe wanted to with the Me-262.

[Later] Oh yes Chris, I've found a box large enough to take that RF-84F kit, it'll be on the way in a day or so.

That's not a bad idea at all: tow it behind literally any turboprop transport plane with a load capacity over 6000lb and a tail ramp so you can easily install the towing gear.

Thankyou Kit, much appreciated
I did some scientific research last night before I went to bed. I put the RF-4 on a cardboard box and slid the MOP underneath, there will be approximately 3mm between the bottom of the fins and the deck, so not only will the fuselage need strengthening, but the landing gear will have to be also, especially the rear. The bomb will have to be snug against the fuselage also, so  a scratch made pylon will be needed too. The sparrow missiles won't be carried, but due to the mission length flying from an airbase in Honduras to a bunker type target in Nicaragua will need plenty of fuel, plus the airspace will be hot, so sidewinders will also be a must, unless I put a pair of ARAAM 's on it. I could possibly put conformal tanks on the phantom instead of the wing mounted drop tanks, easy enough to do, as my super phantom has them.

It would mean rebuilding the weapon, but I have considered making one of the rear fins folded down, or I could build another one with different sized fins on it

Just been doing some research and maths.

If your bomb is about 6000lb, then it's more like the GBU-28 than the MOP. These have a diameter of 382mm, whereas an Exocet missile, scaleorama'd from 1/48th scale, would have a real-world diameter of 522mm. They also use standard Paveway guidance kits, including the laser nose and the flip-out tail fins. GBU-28s can be carried by standard F-15Es.

If you want a MOP-style bomb based on the scaleorama'd Exocet, then the fins on the one you've build look a bit excessive anyway: way longer and somewhat wider than the MOP's. Another approach to deal with ground clearance issues might be to only have two "strake-wings" on the sides and four small steering fins at 45% at the rear. You could claim that the bomb uses "twist and steer" guidance (like a Bloodhound SAM) rather than the normal two-axis sort.

Thanks for the heads up H. This sort of makes me want to build a mk2 version, depending on what bits I have to use. I originally wanted to use parts from two 48th scale  2000 lb LGB 's, but too much of the important bits were missing, hence me making this "home grown" version for the Honduras air force.. I guesstimated the weight as the insides would be filled with explosives and a very thick and heavy casing guidance, possibly TV or GPS guided, The mk2 could have the lazer guidance system pinched off a 72 scale LGB.

I have started to make a mk2 version of my MOP device, and taken some pictures of the donor missile. The missile is solid plastic, and not the easiest thing to cut true. I cut 18 mm out of the mk1 version,  I am tempted to leave the mk2 longer and put the LGB laser guidance system on it. Smaller strakes will also be fitted, and I am tempted to cut the rear fins off as firstly they are too thick, and also I can make them folding. The longer length doesn't seem to get in the way of anything underneath the phantom fuselage either.

Mk2 is nearly done, kept the length and the original tail fins, and found an LGB to sacrifice for the guidance system. I also only put two strakes on it, and slimmed them down a bit. This one will be a bit more hefty than the mk1, and will need a designator to be carried on the phantom.

That's looking really good! Keep that Mk1 version. It might come in handy in the future.

Cheers
I am thinking of hanging the mk1 from a mirage IV Kerick, watch this space.

Absolutely, one SERIOUSLY quick bomber!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model
