That's a cool idea, too.

At the same time I got the 60mm ones, I got some 150s, too. I plan to fill them with builders' bog and use them for flying aircraft/other type bases.

I had a voucher for Hobbycraft and didn't particularly want any of the kits they're selling, so I went down today and got a pack of the 80mm baubles. I also got three "flat oval" fillable baubles. These are 110mm in diameter and 50mm deep, with the join around the 110mm diameter, so they make wider, flatter domes, basically.

£4 for 4 x 80mm spheres, £2 each for the flat ovals, before discount. If you feel like chancing your arms, I dare say they'll be selling these off cheap on Boxing Day if not before.

They have a lot of other fillable baubles too, but most of the rest are either glass, plastic in cutesy shapes, or have pemanent holes in them. That's not to say they're all useless, just not "universal" like domes and spheres. There's a nice little glass "cloche" that sits on a rubber base that would be good for diplaying a particularly prized 28mm figure, for example, and there's a much bigger one (tabletop, not tree ornament) with a wood-effect base with a single LED in the middle of it. The idea is that you put a hollow MDF house on top of it and the LED makes the windows glow, but I'm sure you could think of some other uses for it.

The Works have 80mm spheres in too.
