QuoteJHM, what would a full set of various floats from you run?  I may not need them all now, but they clearly could be useful in the future.
Depends on the cost of resin these days.  I think I get a 500-500 ml set for $60 Cdn.  My only problem is that, since I'm just doing inverted, open-pours and not doing fancy spin-casting or homemade low-pressure injection molding into two-part molds, I'm often not satisfied with the final result and would feel terrible selling them if they're not 95% perfect.

I dunno, I sent Jeffrey F. a set of F-4 pods in return for the temporary use of his Hasegawa originals for molding: were they saleable, Jeff?

much money for 500ml resin John....
I can have it for only 34$ CAN. here in germany...
I thing when you need 3-4 litres so it would be cheaper to buy it here and send it...
best regards
shipping would costs ca.40 $ for all...

Ah, you tease!  What brand resin?
Mine is a full litre (combined "A" and "B" parts) of Alumilite but sounds like yours is still cheaper.  Except shipping, of course.

my is from EBALTA and is 1000ml epoxy and hardener which is something complicated to dose but its not so "fatty" like other resin polyurethane fluids.
its very fluid (fluxional) and with a vibrator...no worry my girl has her own   ...
its bubble free to work with...
the vibrator is an old and cheap foot massage apparat...big and with a plate.
hope this helps...
looks at ebalta germany to check the data of the resin...

Peter, which of their twelve trillion products do you use?
I'm looking for a thin liquid that can be mixed on a 1:1 ratio by simple volume and cures at room temperature.

Well, I just cast my current collection of 1:48 floats I need for some upcoming projects but I have a very bad feeling that my Smooth-On 1:1 mold rubber may have prematurely gone bad.  It sure seemed darker and less mixable/higher viscosity than normal.  There were some nasty lumps that I couldn't quite get mixed out but it was too late to turn back so I poured away, anyhow.   :o

I'll let you know how the mold turns out tomorrow night.  See attached for pic of the parts in the molding tray.

Barry san,

The reconnaissance pods that you molded and cast up from my samples are fine, it will take a bit of creative application of putty to get the halves to mate up but it will work.  Let me know if you need any more "masters" from my stash for your reproduction/replication efforts.
